Loud autoplay ad again

Hi I’m being plagued by another loud autoplaying ad. I thought I might have accidentally tapped it the first time but now it’s come up three timess in half an hour. It says betway on the bridge in the screenshot. As soon as I start scrolling past the ad space in a thread, it immediately starts playing in a black window, taking me away from the thread, and when I try and tap out of it, it minimises into a small rectangle and keeps blaring out of my phone. The only solution is to close the whole window and lose the thread I was reading. Iphone. Safari. Image attached.

Hi @Darragon

Thanks so much for letting us know. Videos shouldn't play audio unless you've interacted with them, so that definitely isn't expected behaviour.

We're looking into this and are working to identify the source of the issue. The information you've shared about how the ad appeared is really helpful and gives us a much better idea of where to investigate.

Could you send us a link to the page where you saw the ad? That will help us narrow things down further. It would also be useful to know what device you're using, along with your browser (for example, Safari or Chrome).

Thanks
MNHQ

@EmeraldRoulette
Assume the M&S one doesn't have sound, just breaking the top ad slot and overlapping Content? This is a separate issue we are currently dealing with.

Can you confirm its doing the attached?

Thanks @EmeraldRoulette!

That is really helpful. If you see the ad again, do you mind clicking the ad and posting the copied URL? If our partner struggles to find the specific advertiser we can give this to narrow down search further!

Thanks so much for your help on this.

Hi All,

Thanks @Darragon, can we try something new for you? I am aware this is taking far longer than we want, we are reaching out to partner again to help us track this down.

Can you try clearing your cache and cookie with the hope of short-term remedy. (M&S seem to really like your cookies!).

Clear cookies and cache without clearing browsing history

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap Safari.
  4. Scroll down and tap Advanced.
  5. Tap Website Data.
  6. Tap Remove All Website Data.
  7. Tap Remove Now to confirm.
  8. Reopen Safari and test the website again.

THis is likely to sign you out and will resurface our CMP but that is normal. Any issues please message here again!

Kind regards,
MNHQ
