Can't read the last few lines of incoming DM

KorneliyaSky · 12/11/2025 18:27

Is anyone else having this issue with DMs? The only way around it seems to be replying before you've read the last 2 lines which then shunts up the incoming message. This has only happened over the last couple of days and is extremely frustrating.
Has anyone got any solutions?

I have this if I'm in firefox - it doesn't seem to be a problem in Chrome

LochSunart · 12/11/2025 20:02

I use Chrome on an Android phone and have been having exactly this problem for a day or two. I think the problem is also there on my Windows laptop, but less severe, because the timestamp seems to push the message up a little.

On my phone, I've logged off and back in, and cleared the cache, to no avail.

KorneliyaSky · 12/11/2025 23:07

I'm on Chrome though @Londonmummy66

Yes me too. Very annoying!

JoMumsnet · 13/11/2025 11:28

Hi all, thanks for alerting us to this issue - it sounds very frustrating. We're taking a look now and will be back with an update shortly.

JoMumsnet · 14/11/2025 13:03

Hi again,

Just letting you know that we're still working on a fix for this issue.

In the meantime, if you're able to access a desktop device, you should be able to see your most recent PMs on there (minus the time stamp).

Sorry, we know it's not ideal but we're hoping to have this fixed asap!

BillieWiper · 14/11/2025 13:08

Yeah me and another user I chat to had this. Super annoying!

LochSunart · 14/11/2025 17:40

I'm not sure whether I'm imagining this, but I think the problem might be getting a bit worse: last two lines, almost. The workaround, of course, is to send the message followed by a couple of messages containing just one character to 'bump' the message up a bit.

PandoraSocks · 15/11/2025 14:45

Same problem here! It is very annoying!

Hi Jo, I just tried on my laptop, same issue. In fact it's worse!

IHE · 16/11/2025 22:35

Also on both Samsung's own browser and Opera on Android.

LiveToTell · 17/11/2025 10:30

Mine is working fine (Safari on iPhone).

PandoraSocks · 17/11/2025 13:09

Mine are still not! Any updates @JoMumsnet please?

everywhichway · 17/11/2025 13:13

Still a problem for me too.

IHE · 17/11/2025 13:21

I'm now getting a similar issue on Firefox on a Windows laptop.

KorneliyaSky · 19/11/2025 23:02

Any news @JoMumsnet . It's a right pain!

LochSunart · 22/11/2025 19:19

The problem persists, together with a new one: when typing a message, the keyboard will disappear at random, as if the focus has changed. Not just me having this problem.

HebeMumsnet · 24/11/2025 11:23

Hi there @LochSunart. This sounds like a different issue but we'd like to look at this too. Can we ask if this issue began on the 22nd when you posted here or if it started before that? And is it happening persistently or just occasionally? If there's any chance you're able to get a screen recording and email it to us at [email protected] that would be really useful.

HebeMumsnet · 24/11/2025 11:24

@KorneliyaSky and others: Good news - we think we have worked out what the problem is and we should have a fix for it very soon.

I also have this too. Mid typing, the keyboard goes and the cursor jumps into the text I've already written

@HebeMumsnet You may see that I've sent you some PMs to test the problem. I recorded the screen and am now going to try to email you the recording. Give me a minute ....

LochSunart · 24/11/2025 16:38

@HebeMumsnet : OK, I have sent a screen recording, from the email address associated with my username.

LochSunart · 24/11/2025 16:43

And just to add: the issue of the last couple of lines being obscured arose before the 22nd. Can't remember exactly when. The random keyboard behaviour (which I couldn't reproduce in the screen recording) came later - a few days ago.

everywhichway · 24/11/2025 17:00

I'm still unable to see the last couple of lines of the latest PM that I send.

This is still happening!

Every message has to be followed by a dot

So that we can read it

It's getting to be ridiculous
