Page keeps refreshing and starting from the top

So whilst I’m scrolling down and reading it will refresh and I will have to start from the top again

This just happened to me (happens all the time) so I tried to screen record and a different error message happened (which also happens every so often). So I have a screen recording @mnhq - how do I get it to you? (Can’t seem to attach it in a post).

But it really shouldn’t take much of MNHQ’s time browsing the site to see these kinds of bugs - they’re constant.

I agree with everything that’s being said on the thread. The page refreshing is very discouraging for anyone to post on sensitive personal topics or responding to requests to share detailed info let alone just try to join in fast moving threads or have a fun lighthearted chat, The random refreshing of the page happens when you are both posting and reading so it makes the platform feel very glitchy and insecure.
The hassle of scrolling back around to find where you were after a refresh demands way more from the poster than just giving the content for free. I worry that only the very tenacious and dedicated users will bother. If this isn’t sorted out soon I think the management should be looking at the engagement stats and getting worried about the individual user experience being so poor in terms of long term sustainability of the site. A good website that relies on users providing the content needs to retain the old hands who feel part of the community and also needs to attract the constant flow of new users who come for a reason then leave the site or may decide to stick around. But it’s hard to feel part of something that is randomly chucking you off where you are reading.

I have this problem and it is really annoying - I have now captured a screen recording of it happening - where should I send it?

It’s the ads freezing and crashing the site.

I would agree with the PP - the reloading issue is just so constant - everytime you come to the page, everytime you go to a new thread - it’s hard to believe that no Mumsnet employee has this same experience

This feature has now started refreshing the page and as part of that, wiping out the text of the post that I’m writing but haven’t posted yet. That’s new and much worse and more frustrating. I don’t like my time and my interest in commenting to be wiped away like that.

It feels like the impetus for gaining advertising revenue is hugely outweighing the lack of resource or priority given to MN’s IT team and ensuring a decent user experience. The site has to be usable to retain and attract users.

Same for me scrolling is difficult and slow due to ads then it moves back to the start. It’s not a good user experience …too many ads all over the place and site not functioning as it should.

Yes I’ve got it too. Given up on the iPad this morning and am now on my phone but pages still stalling. It’s infuriating and I hardly use MN any more.

Yep. Cleared my cache and did all the things. Been going on for months and it’s so bloody irritating.

Use some of the ad revenue to hire a decent IT guru, maybe?

Sort this out please, reading and posting and it resets and takes you to the top of the thread! ffs this is a joke …get some decent IT

the same here and also noticed that it is happening more often now. Before was just maybe once or twice per session but this morning it has happened already 8 times!

I’m also getting this constantly, IPhone 11 using Safari. There’s no rhyme or reason to it happening, it just randomly does it. I’m also occasionally getting a blank OP when the thread loads and I have to refresh for it to appear.

I’ve always (15+years on MN) had 100 replies as my page count. Now I’m considering putting it to infinite BUT expecting fresh problems with scrolling and being sent back to the top.
Its the last chance I’m giving this site.

This happens for me too. In fact it just happened while I was reading this thread. It’s impossible to screenshot as it happens so quickly.
