How do I get rid of video ads taking over the whole screen?

I’m sure there is already a thread and the advice from someone at Mumsnet was to press the x on the video. But there isn’t an x to press so how do I get rid of it? I’ve attached a screenshot.

Its happening to me all the time too, driving me mad its making mumsnet unusable, please @mumsnet can something be done

We've located and (hopefully!) blocked this ad by now but please let us know if it crops up again.

Ohhh, I wonder if that was the one that insisted I rotate my screen then still didn't do anything except block (and no X appeared either).

This is still happening @JoMumsnet . No rhyme or reason to the threads, happening about 2/3 of the time. It is always this add though I think. The only way I can get rid of it is to click on it then close the tab it opens.

It's happened again just now. I was looking at my "I'm on" list and this came up. If I rotate my screen the whole lot vanishes but if I return it to landscape then it blocks my screen. There is no X to press.

Just happened on the Active threads too. It's when I'm scrolling down after about the tenth thread.

@JoMumsnet it's still happening, it's in all kinds of threads & I never pay any attention to the adverts. But I'll try to & report back.

I am also getting them. No pattern that I’ve noticed yet.

The Net a Porter ad issue should now be fixed. Please just let us know if anyone continues to have problems.

This has started for me today, on top of the intrusive pop up ads appearing top right that are uncloseable, and the banner ads at the top.

Sorry, HebeMN, but I’ve now downloaded DuckDuckGo private browser app to follow (and add content to) a tribunal thread in FWR, because this full-screen ad-intrusion is unbearable and your site is unusable, as MNHQ has repeatedly been informed. There’s thread after thread after thread.

I always accepted that viewing a few ads was part of the contract with MN, as you do obviously have to make money to run the business, but this situation is nuts.

I've now also started getting this delightful ad that blocks out the whole page and the only way to get rid of it is by closing the tab completely and restarting

This site is getting completely ridiculous now
