CHANGE EM BACK - NOW

SheikYerbouti · 30/05/2008 16:16

It's one step away from animated emoticons waving placards imho.

BellaBearChainedToTheRailings · 30/05/2008 16:16

BertolinaBrecht · 30/05/2008 16:20

(tis berolina)

ButterflyBessie · 30/05/2008 16:20

NAB, I don't see anything odd either

I think this is just like the emperor's new clothes (yes I am thick)

TolpuddlapinMartyrs · 30/05/2008 16:22

Hit F5, and if they still don't change, clear your browser's cache

NotABanana · 30/05/2008 16:23

I don't know what a cache is either.

DottyofArc · 30/05/2008 16:23

I had to press refresh - and then scroll down to see the horrific smileys...

Thank the lord they haven't messed with my favourite one - 'cos it's exactly how I feel about the others

DottyofArc · 30/05/2008 16:24

Sheik - you're so right - they're going to be jumping up and down the sodding screen any minute now

Apologies - had to use it...

TolpuddlapinMartyrs · 30/05/2008 16:26

NAB, are you on Internet Explorer or Firefox?

EffieOnThePilgrimageOfGrace · 30/05/2008 16:26

I need a shorter activist name [grrr]

SheikYerbouti · 30/05/2008 16:27

Look, Tech et al, you know this was never going to be a good idea.

MNers, as a whole, do not like change. We hate and fear it in fact.

We want our old, non-spangly emoticons back

EffieOnThePilgrimageOfGrace · 30/05/2008 16:28

we could march

if we knew where to march TO

TolpuddlapinMartyrs · 30/05/2008 16:28

Wilbur made a good point about the sad one, that people use it to express sympathy. Go and have a look at any Bereavement or Miscarriage thread, they are now full of turquoise cartoon , it looks DREADFUL

NotABanana · 30/05/2008 16:29

Internet Explorer.

Remember when we had a change a few months back? It was awful but within a day or so it was like it had always been like that.

Swedes · 30/05/2008 16:29

I was just about to start a post about the new emoticons. [livid]

claireybee · 30/05/2008 16:29

Um, is it just me or does the bold type also look different?

DottyofArc · 30/05/2008 16:29

I reckon they do this every now and then to give themselves a laugh on a quiet Friday afternoon.

Well it's not funny.

I've told you before - we need clear notices, in advance, of any changes. In fact there should be a voting system. And a separate section on 'proposed changes' - if chicken keepers get one I think we should get a 'scary changes' one...

DottyofArc · 30/05/2008 16:31

Seriously, the sad one just isn't right - and people do use it a lot on bereavment threads when you want to show support and thoughts but can't do or say too much else.

It looks too comical to be used in those kinds of circumstances.

please change it back??

If you change that one back and the angry one (which is just downright terrifying) we might be able to cope with the others...?

EffieOnThePilgrimageOfGrace · 30/05/2008 16:32

not this one

TolpuddlapinMartyrs · 30/05/2008 16:32

Bold looks heavier

what about italics

DottyofArc · 30/05/2008 16:33

Right. I've got to go and have a facial now (don't ask - birthday pressie from MIL - have to use it or I'm in trouble) but I'm never going to be able to relax knowing there's trouble in MN paradise.

Sigh. Am expecting natural order to be restored by the time I get back.
