Please remove me from the infinite scroll test group.

Can I please be removed from the test group and have my account moved back to the paginated version? I really dislike the infinite scrolling, it makes it much harder to navigate the threads and means I end up leaving threads and not engaging with the site. I would have appreciated a heads up that I was being placed in a test group and how to opt out instead of being left to struggle with a frustrating and unnecessary change.

Please remove me too, it's awful and I can't imagine that it's a feature anyone wants. I've had to scroll for so long just to get to the bottom of this post to reply.

Nevertrustacop · 30/05/2025 22:31

Likewise. I've had this for just a few hours and it's so rubbish. Please let me out. It's making the site completely unusable.

bookworm14 · 30/05/2025 22:42

I’ve suddenly been added to this as of this evening and I hate it! Please remove me. I’ve just had to scroll for about 15 minutes just to get to the bottom of this thread so I can post!

WhisperingTree · 31/05/2025 06:35

I really hate the infinite scrolling. Why can’t we disable it in the settings? Please remove me from the test group.

Gyozas · 31/05/2025 09:00

I was in that. Horrendous. There was no option to scroll straight/jump to the bottom to comment, so I too would just leave threads.

PaleBlueMoonlight · 31/05/2025 09:38

Could I please be removed from the infinite scroll group as well. Thank you

NoBinturongsHereMate · 31/05/2025 09:53

Take me out as well please, MN.

I've posted a separate thread about a specific problem, so I've done my bit on the testing.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 31/05/2025 09:54

BTW, when there are multiple MN comments on a thread, you need a way to see them all easily, as you can with the OPs posts.

NoBinturongsHereMate · 31/05/2025 10:00

I was on another forum that introduced infinite scroll (they claimed it was 'more modern'). Everyone there hated it, too.

Someone commented that they prefer it (😲) but I can’t honestly see why anyone would prefer scrolling endlessly to being able to go page by page or jumping pages. The new way looks like a cluttered mess. I just can’t work out what benefits or advantages the infinity scroll has.

More modern than what, just normal, easy to use scrolling.🤔 Sometimes it makes you wonder what makes up a job spec that people have to invent absurd things that make no sense. I think I’ll just hop on one leg from now on because I feel it’s more modern than boring old walking on two legs. I might start stuffing my dinner in my ear as well as instead of just eating it as that seems a highly modern thing to do 😏

I admit infinite scrolling has made me irrationally agitated 😁

Please remove me too. TIA

Please could you remove me too. It’s awful.

Helleofabore · 31/05/2025 11:29

Me too please

Rickles2 · 31/05/2025 12:52

Please remove me from the test group.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 31/05/2025 13:00

Remove from it too, please (and I am not on the app). It is making me want to give up Mumsnet, as it seems to take eons to get to the most recent posts.

pointythings · 31/05/2025 14:14

I seem to have ended up on infinite scrolling this morning. I hate it. Please take me off it.

This is generally a bad idea.

Chewbecca · 31/05/2025 14:17

oh, is that what it is? I can’t get to the last page of a thread without selecting ‘load more posts’ about 100x and then it freezes? V v annoying feature.

Helleofabore · 31/05/2025 14:18

Yay!!! I have pages back! Thank you. So much easier to navigate now.

FeralWoman · 31/05/2025 14:49

You can tap on “add post” at the bottom of anyone’s post and you’ll get the box to type in without endless scrolling needed.

Infinite scroll is bloody horrible. It’s one reason why I don’t use the MN app. If people like it they can go use it over there.

Mumsnet: Why are you continuing to trial infinite scrolling when 99.9% of MNetters hate it? What’s the point? Seems like a waste of money and time and you’re going to lose members who don’t know to post in this thread to get it removed. If I’d had to keep infinite scroll I would have left. Why try to alienate your members?

LivMumsnet · 31/05/2025 16:25

Afternoon everyone - thanks to everyone who has given feedback. Anyone who has asked to be removed from the test group up until this post, we've noted this down and hopefully this will be sorted next week. Thanks in advance for your patience with this.

Woollygreymittens · 31/05/2025 16:27

Please can you remove me from this too please

Woollygreymittens · 31/05/2025 16:27

Me too, I hate it

macrowave · 31/05/2025 16:55

Remove me please. It's shit. There are far better ways to take the Mumsnet UI out of 2005.

pointythings · 31/05/2025 17:33

@MNHQ why don't you put a post on AIBU and let people vote on infinite scrolling? I'd really be interested in seeing the percentages on that 😂

Why cant you have both? I wont ever use the app as the mobile site has always been much better and i dont see the point of an app that is has always been awful. But if you are going to have an app at least give some settings choice.
