Is this a genuine email?
If it isn't you need to warn people.
If it IS.. why are you sending unsolicited emails?

Thank you for bringing to our attention the issues you have been experiencing with <link removed by poster>. We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter these problems when visiting the site, and we are committed to resolving them for you.

To better understand and address the challenges you’re facing, we’d like to arrange a screen-sharing call with a member of our tech & product team. This will help us pinpoint the exact issues you’re encountering and work towards a solution more effectively.

If you're open to a call, feel free to book a time that works for you through the Calendly links:

I wouldn't have thought so. Hope someone comes along to clear it up.

Hope you didn't click on the link just in case.

absolutely not. its in my junk, but i heavily filter so anything that doesn't come from a previously marked safe address lands in there!

I have reported threads in the past and I have never had one asking for a phone call . That's just odd !

They also tend to sign off with their mn name ( but not always ) I have never seen them sign of with their job description / job title .

You could either send mn a email ( not replying via that one ) or report your thread so mn see it a bit sooner.

dappledgreyandwhite · 21/01/2025 21:27

Never ever heard of this, no.

MidnightBloom · 21/01/2025 21:34

It looks like a scam email. Mumsnet emails are usually for me lovely, chatty and relaxed in tone. They have signed off with there real names before.

Peanutssuck · 21/01/2025 21:35

There's a thread on site stuff atm about how badly MN is lagging. Admin put a post up asking if anybody on that thread would speak to their developers whilst scrolling on here. I can't link the thread, but it was a legit call

Soubriquet · 21/01/2025 21:35

Nope. No way @MNHQ

MidnightBloom · 21/01/2025 21:36

Thanks for that info @Peanutssuck mumsnet has been crashing/lagging for me quite a bit recently.

WinterBones · 21/01/2025 21:38

it begs the question, if it is a scam, how did they get my email? And how did they know i'd been posting about technical issues on here?

And again.. if its genuine, why weren't we prewarned about them emailing us randomly inviting us to screensharing meetings.. they could have replied to us on the thread.

I've done a video call with a MN tech before - they want to see how you use stuff. I had actually been on a thread about specific improvements and had agreed to do this when they asked, though.

Just email the main MN email address and ask - you'll get a quick response.

Did you complain about a site issue? It's not clear from your OP. In which case it's not unsolicited exactly.

BeansAndNoodles · 21/01/2025 21:48

I had this email - did you fill in the MN survey about site problems months ago? I think it's to do with that.

ThatMerryReader · 21/01/2025 21:48

Mi kasia es tu kasia.

i don't recall, even if i did, sending an email months later is weird.

It's not that weird? I've signed up for things in the past and got emailed about them months later. I didn't expect them to also somehow contact me to "warn" me they would contact me!

Anyway, drop a line to the contact email address (as a pp said, not replying to the email) and/or forget about it if you're not fussed about doing a call!

WinterBones · 21/01/2025 21:56

That's not a definite no, so the most likely explanation is that you did do the survey - which said MN may contact you for more info, and now that's what they're doing.

Londonnight · 22/01/2025 08:21

I had the same one. I deleted it!

BeckyAMumsnet · 22/01/2025 10:06

Hello @WinterBones thanks for posting and apologies for the worry. We can confirm the email did come from MNHQ and is not a scam. Those who completed the crash and freeze survey on 12th December and said we could follow up to arrange a zoom call would have heard from us (check your junk folders! 😁)

If you've any questions or comments, please let us know and thanks to everyone for your help.

WinterBones · 22/01/2025 12:16

Thanks Becky.

I have absolutely no recall of seeing that survey, let alone filling it out.. too much has gone on since then xD (gcse mocks, christmas, sleep) i'll put it down to ADHD tax, lol.
