Google chrome keeps freezing - only on MN?

When I use MN on my Sony Xperia 10 VI 5g using Google Chrome it keeps freezing. If I use any other websites on my phone or browse MN on Google Chrome on my Chromebook, it doesn't freeze, ever.

Everything's up to date and my phone is new

Any ideas please?

Me too. It's certain ads that I only see if on mumsnet. It reminds me not to spend too long on here!

Me too relieved 🤣 thought I might need to add a new device to the Xmas list.

It hangs for me on a tablet using various browsers.

I use Chrome browser on my Samsung phone, and my laptop is a Chromebook. Mumsnet continually freezes on both for the last month or so - hence I spend a lot less time here lately.

Gosh that's a relief I thought it was my phonr. Samsung galaxy as well but only a couple of years old.

I keep having to restart chrome.

Mine literally just froze. Can't even back key. There was a dell ad at the top.

I wonder if it's all the moving ads are too much for the phone. Ira making mn unusable.

Me too. I hadn't realised until you posted that it only happens on Mumsnet.

sony experia and MN keeps hanging on my phone,glad its not just me then, thought I was having issues with my phone, reassuring to hear its not a fault my end

I have it on safari on iphone. All new and up to date. Switching to chrome sorts the issue but dont like using chrome on iphone so just on mumsnet less now

Yep same here. Can’t scroll half the time. Pages keep completely crashing.

Hopefully the ads that are breaking the site are worth the money they’re paying.

Yes having problems here too since yesterday. Using an S10 with latest version of Android and latest version of Chrome.

If I open a new tab, MN loads fine. I can then use the tab for maybe 15-20 mins before it starts loading suuuuper slooooowly and I have to close it and open a new tab which is fine for a bit then it starts again...

I've got MN premium so don't even have any big adverts too!

I’m so fed up with it freezing every time I want to look at any thread
the only way I can search/ scroll is by looking via my email
its been going on for ages I don’t think mnhq can be arsed to fix it properly

Ohh this has been happening to me too. Been telling DH how crap my phone is recently! I've switched to the app but really don't like the layout or notifications so may try another browser.
