Amazon Ad's

Every time I'm scrolling on a thread with an Amazon ad, it clicks through to Amazon with the slightest of touches. It's happening constantly and making Mumsnet unusable. I already have Amazon so is bloody pointless anyway.

It just happened to me when scrolling past your message, which is nowhere near the Amazon ad! At least 3 posts below the ad. Been bugging me for ages and I hate Amazon at the best of times.

Hi all, sorry that many of you are still having problems with these Amazon ads. We're still trying to resolve this issue but in the meantime can we ask if it happens if you use the side rail to scroll?

It's getting worse. I'm on an iPhone, on the app. I'm in the middle of a thread, in the middle of someone's post, I scroll down, I'm into Amazon. It doesn't matter where I touch, in the middle of the screen or the side to scroll down, I've tried all sorts of things, it still takes me there. It's so over sensitive. 4 or 5 times per thread. It's really bad.

Is this linked to the issue of the page constantly refreshing when it loads ads (not just the Amazon one)? If not I’ll butt out and terminate the attempted derail

I'm not sure what you mean by side rail, does the iOS app have one? Here is what it looks like on my iPhone and basically touching anywhere within that grey box that says advertisement it opens Amazon in safari.

There is no side rail on the app.

I've found the siderail in the app (little grey bar on the right hand side), however it only appears after you've started scrolling, and to use it you have to keep holding it. It's a remarkably inefficient way to scroll compared to being able to use everywhere else on the screen. But I'll give it a go the next time the advert appears.

So there is, a side rail! How many years have I been using this app!?!?!

Just had the ad pop up as I was browsing. I tried using the sidebar and could scroll past the ad without it launching Amazon. However this really isn't a good workaround as I'm not using the sidebar usually, it's too fiddly. Also, it's on the right of the screen so presumably no use for lefties.

I'm glad to see this has been raised as an issue. It has been irritating me. Using iPhone on the app. No Amazon ads on this thread though strangely.

I've just updated to iOS 17.6.1 and the problem is worse. Now I'm getting the click anywhere near the Amazon and it launches problem. The lightest of brushes - like starting to use the side rail - and it launches. Argh!

The side rail doesn't make any difference. It still happens even when using the side rail.

Morning, everyone. We think we have fixed this, though we can still see some of you reporting the same issue since the fix.

Could we ask anyone still having this problem to clear their cookies and let us know how things are after that? Thank you.

Just get an ad blocker. I haven't seen ads on this site for years.
