I'm curious about how far she's reaching. Besides if someone's badmouthing me I don't think I'm unusual in wanting to know what's being said, to know what the 'evidence' is. Is it just the corpus that is being scraped? At the moment I feel I'm on trial and I've had no sight of the evidence and not much information on the charges.

I do agree that I’d like to know what she said and I was being a bit facetious in saying we’re being judged and tried as transphobes in a very much kafkaesque manner. There’s just no way they’d share Eden’s ‘evidence’ or Eden’s conclusions when deep down they are not confident of either. If they were, they’d offer to openly share those materials.

Are Aston doing a Tennant with this? He’s not coming across well in the mainstream media today as well as social media. Too early to say if his reputation is damaged but it will stay with him forever as a story. The story in The Times states how Badenoch is doing more for gay kids than Tennant is. I don’t particularly like the article, but I understand the conflict needs to be discussed. And it can’t be a hate crime to discuss this surely?

By his own admission, Tennant did not follow social media and surrounded himself with one ‘side’ (easy to do when people, like The Guardian journalists, are hounded out of their jobs for discussing it).

But reality gets in the way and people had to discuss it. Because it was safety and privacy and livelihoods that were and are in the balance. Particularly for the most vulnerable, and then the most important people in the world to mums - their children.

And mumsnet is a refuge for women discussing this because it was too hot a topic for papers who once championed women and gay rights.

I hope there are some people at Aston that are getting this. The ideology is finally being discussed thanks to many (mainly) brave women speaking about reality. There is a danger of this PhD looking outdated.

This work isn’t just an undergraduate honours project. It’s a PhD and carries weight. It’s Aston-approved by their ethics boards.

I’m looking forward to finding out what ordinary, everyday phrases are transphobic, or ‘right wing dog whistles’ in Eden Palmer land!
