Please, for the sake of all of our eyes, can we have an outright ban on people posting photos of shit, period blood clots, injuries and most of all, photos of their skanky genitals?

No-one, apart from the OP’s doctor, needs to see this stuff and it’s frankly revolting. MN is not a fucking hospital, people should go to their doctor or A&E. It’s also a magnet for perverts.

Just don't click on the thread? I have never seen this because I simply avoid those threads.

Disagree. The poster who is scared about having vulval cancer (assuming it’s a genuine thread) was looking for support because she’s terrified. I don’t think that’s the kind of thing MN should be preventing. Just don’t look.

Not all of the threads have a warning on so you don’t necessarily know until you click on it.

Even if it does have a warning, once again, MN is not a hospital. If you’re genuinely worried about something on your arsehole, go to the fucking doctor. Don’t take a photo of it and post it on here.

Don’t open threads you don’t like the look of. And never click on sensitive pics if you don’t want to see them.

Maybe people are too embarrassed to see their dr or anxious about waiting 10 years for an appointment.

I saw the subject header of the thread in question and didn’t click through. These threads are pretty self explanatory. Just avoid them.

Your title basically describes childbirth. Doctors often minimise women's pain and issues. There is nothing wrong with a woman asking for other women's opinions and support with medical issues, even ones that make you uncomfortable.

But then there’s nothing to moan about innit.

We urge anyone with a health concern should speak to a professional, and we have a disclaimer on our health topics. Ideally, everyone who had a health concern would do this immediately - but as we all know, that just isn't the case.

Mumsnet is, above all else, a support site for adults. Sometimes, this means sharing the not so pretty things. We understand that it can be frustrating to click on a thread and see an imagine without warning and that's why we have tools in place to prevent you from seeing something that you don't want to see.

In this case, we added a content warning to the title and the OP added a 'sensitive photo' block. The title discussed the problem, which is also a warning when a photo is attached.

We really do think it best in this case, to ignore the threads that have these warnings on. As always, if you have concerns about something, it's best to report it to us. We're always happy to take a look.

I am really concerned about the genital picture. What if it's actually an abuse photo? I won't go in to detail about why that could be but I really don't think it should be allowed.

Mumsnet are obviously aware of the thread as they have edited the title.

If the other poster is genuine (no reason so far to assume not) then they are really must be worried and this is in poor taste (more so than a photo woman’s body that you clicked on the sensitive content warning to view). It’s also a TAAT.

Once again for the people not bothering to read properly. The threads aren’t always clearly titled. I’m not talking about a specific thread.

To be fair, I think this is a situation where cropping the photo can be very useful.

People keep referencing a sensitive content warning and blurred picture. Is this yet ANOTHER feature that doesn't work on the app? (as the photo today certainly didn't have either)

Come on MN, you need to sort this bloody app out, in part because of conversations like this where everyone assumes the same features are available across all platforms

I’ve never clicked on anything sensitive by mistake. Be more selective in what you open.

pee, poo, spots etc are all part of life & sometimes people just want some help from others. YOU don't have to help, YOU can swipe past the thread. There's nothing wrong with asking for help to stop you going out your mind with worry before you can get to see a Doctor.

Oh no, bring them on - more gory the better. I love all that sort of thing, fascinating. You can learn a lot from photos and I always look online for examples of ailments.

My facebook feed is full of photos from my friend sharing images of her horse’s horrendous leg injury and how it’s healing - was right down to the bone and has taken a full year to cover.

Warnings yes, but otherwise let us post it all.
