Battery draining

Hi. The Mumsnet app is really draining my phone battery today. It's not normally a problem. But in approx 5-10 mins it's drained from 90% to 30%. This has happened 3 times today. Anyone else having or had this problem?

Any update on this? Battery just dropped 40% in around 5-10 mins!!

We're investigating this, but we think it's related to the latest IOS update, rather than the app. It's not likely to be something we can investigate quickly, but we appreciate all of the information shared and are looking into it.

This doesn't explain why the MN app is the only app out of a huge number which causes problems on my phone and ipad (on different versions of ios).

All the other apps are behaving as normal so presumably their developers follow the ios guidances and release notes for developers rather more closely.

I mostly use the desktop but if I was mainly an ios user I'd simply shut it down until this is fixed. When an SM app burns more battery than 3d mapping apps on the same phone then something is wrong with the app.

Same problem. Ipad gets burning hot and eventually Mumsnet app slows and freezes. Only happens on this app. I'm on IOS 16.7. I'll be cutting down on Mumsnet until it's fixed, it can't be good for the ipad to get so hot.

I am the same. Only app experiencing this issue and I'm having to cut down use. App - iOS 16.6.1 iPhone and iPad

Agreed, that is what I've done. I deleted the app and only use desktop now. I came back to the thread today to see if anything had changed - apparently not.

This seemed to have been a bit better for a few days but is really bad again today. Battery draining really quickly and phone very hot. Again - there are no problems with any other apps or using my phone for anything else. Only the Mumsnet app is causing these problems.

Just been on Mumsnet approx 10 mins and battery has gone from 100% to 45%! (No problems with any other app.)

Yes!!! My batt is dead from coming on here in the morn and lunch!
I cant keep doing it my batt is fucked! Its a new phone!

My iPhone gets very hot when I'm on Mumsnet. Good hand warmer for the winter.

Mine resolved but has been happening again in the last few days
100% down to 20% in two hours!
This only happens on Mumsnet
I have reinstalled the app and it still happens

Any update on this? It was a bit better for a while but my battery has just dropped from
80% to 12% in 10 minutes! I don't have any problems with any other apps.

I am finding the app totally unusable over the last few days. It won't scroll properly- really jerky, , typing is very slow, the battery js draining and my phone is getting hot. And no I have no other apps running in the background.

You really need to sort this out!

Typing is slow, scrolling is jerky and my phone battery has just gone from 24% to 8% in about 15 mins! Only using Mumsnet, no other apps.

I’ve never reloaded the app after having these problems last year. MN are unresponsive about it so I’m not intending to use it again.
