8.40pm on 17th August the Reduxx tweet regarding Stephanie Hayden went out and i think the first thread went up shortly after. So yeah a week.

Think of how many people lurked on the threads here as well as posting.

All those people just on mumsnet who know what we all know. And what the 2.2 million who viwed the tweet know, and the countless people those people told about the person in the tweet and their past history. And all the people who went to the farms to find out more.

So so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so many people.

Surely there comes a point where information is just in the public domain. It can't be libel after that.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer. But neither is Anthony!

Hanones · 23/08/2023 22:14

Or Stephanie!

I'll never be able to watch the flumps again.

Intriguingly the Reduxx link has not been pulled from the first page of this thread.

I wonder if there is a particular form of words we can’t say, for now?

Or perhaps we’re all going to be arrested en masse. Bagsy cellmates with @BoreOfWhabylon or @BoreOfWhabylon

I think you have to say it three times for things to come true on mumsnet

I'm amazed the threads stayed up for so long. Hopefully reduxx will not be similarly cowed by this individual.

DorothyWhippleFan · 23/08/2023 22:23

Just hoping that the word has spread to South Africa.

I imagine that a certain individual has pulled his usual trick of obtaining an ex parte injunction, claiming that all manner of fear and distress has been caused and added in a few imaginary threats to his life for good measure.

There will also be misgendering “undermined my dignity as a woman” etc etc

The good thing about an ex parte (without notice) injunction is that it is temporary and can be challenged.

If this has happened, let’s hope that Mumsnet challenge it and in so doing, pour even more sunlight on the situation.

I am sure Mumsnet’s legal team will be aware of the Twitter/X views and traction.

Another Mumsnet thread linked to in one of the deleted threads, that discusses Mumsnet being sued in breach of the equality act, has been up since 2018 and explicitly mentions 2 counts of a specific type of assault.

Plus you have the Farms and comments on YouTube, so censoring MN is futile.

Edited

I doubt Farms and Youtube has the same thrill as shutting a bunch of women up on MNs.

Just a guess, based on nothing.

Would I have to wear a hat for court? I dont think I have one

lechiffre55 · 23/08/2023 22:24

If everyone genuinely wants to stop stuff getting deleted.
Figure out what the magic words are that causes mumsnet problems. Avoid them.
While it's defiant and strong to say the forbidden words in the face of censorship, every time those words get spoken, a kitten thread gets deleted and that makes someone very very happy. What would make them very very unhappy is never saying the magic words that makes them happy.

Imagine how unhappy someone might be if there were bobbly farm hats everywhere, and none of it was cause for mumsnet to take down threads. If you really want to express how you feel, this would get the message across the strongest.

Imagine unrelated threads all over FWR where farming bobble hats became a meme for all sorts of unsavoury behavior. An onlooker might get very upset about that. Be smart, almost a lawyer, but not really a proper lawyer smart.
