Why was the first full thread deleted please @MNHQ?

I imagine that a certain individual has pulled his usual trick of obtaining an ex parte injunction, claiming that all manner of fear and distress has been caused and added in a few imaginary threats to his life for good measure.

There will also be misgendering “undermined my dignity as a woman” etc etc

The good thing about an ex parte (without notice) injunction is that it is temporary and can be challenged.

If this has happened, let’s hope that Mumsnet challenge it and in so doing, pour even more sunlight on the situation.

I am sure Mumsnet’s legal team will be aware of the Twitter/X views and traction.

Another Mumsnet thread linked to in one of the deleted threads, that discusses Mumsnet being sued in breach of the equality act, has been up since 2018 and explicitly mentions 2 counts of a specific type of assault.

Plus you have the Farms and comments on YouTube, so censoring MN is futile.

Anyone know how many times was the Redux article viewed on Twitter? Most of the stuff discussed on those threads was in the
article.

The direct tweet count was 2.2 million times

But there were plenty of independent tweets with the attachment.

GunkyAndGungey · 23/08/2023 21:44

Hang on how come some comments say "edited"??? When did we get the ability to edit comments?

[misses point of thread]

Hanones · 23/08/2023 21:45

I think it's a new feature

EDIT it is!!

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/08/2023 21:46

Yes, there's a thread about it in SS

lechiffre55 · 23/08/2023 21:46

MumsnetHQ.
Hypothetically speaking. Should Mumsnet want to undelete a whole thread does the ability exist to do this?

A lot of the name change stuff seems to rely on the person who changes their name being honest about that going forward. Completely missing that fact that apart from those who didn't like their original name of vagina wincklebottom, some rather unsavoury characters might decide to use changing their name to escape the bits of their past they aren't very proud of.

Add in being able to changes the sex as well and you create your own history black hole.

So a person could be on the sex offenders register change from male and called Brian Smith on the SO register to female Brittney Jones and unless Brittney divulged their previous names and sex to a prospective employer say then it won't necessarily connect the dots on the dbs check as the system trusts the sex offender to tell the truth and update the relevant departments.what could possibly go wrong

Edited

Keep Prisons Single Sex produced a report, pointing out the safeguarding issues related to this -

Interesting question.

I believe they can and do reinstate threads. I am sure I saw it done a few days ago. Can't remember which thread it was though.

Yes, I believe so.

Don't think he ever qualified.

Maybe due to having criminal convictions for assault and child abuse.

NotMadeOfStone · 23/08/2023 22:01

Huff away all you like pal.

2.2 million people at least know exactly who you are now.

Please do continue ranting at clouds though.
