Why do I keep getting logged out?

I keep having to log in and it is a total pain. What is going on? It seems that if I go off to visit another site (using another window) I log out of mumsnet.

The site logs you in if you post a message or explicitly log in through the little window. If was configured to log you out if you don't post anything or look at a new page for 10 minutes. I've upped this to 30. The reason we have it log you out at all is we've had incidents where people leave the room and then their partner/children come in and post mischievous messages in their name.

Alibubbles, what page is it that's freezing? To be honest, if your browser is freezing as you scroll down it's more likely to be an issue with the pc than the site itself. But I'd be interested to know what page you are seeing it on.

tech, it just hapene again! I click on search for new messages, it came up with something like 484, I scroll down readingthe ones I want, today ~~I got as far as those starting with M.
I am on a mac ( G4 and broadband)

Mumsnet constantly freezes my screen too. Infact I'm getting quite used to it. Ussually when I try to click on a thread. Gggrr/
