Why do I keep getting logged out?

I keep having to log in and it is a total pain. What is going on? It seems that if I go off to visit another site (using another window) I log out of mumsnet.

Sorry, can't answer this one, but will alert tech to your query. In the mean time hope it's not too much of a pain.

OnZephyrstdayofXmas · 09/12/2004 17:04

same thing happens to me buffet - i just assumed it was like a 'time out' thing where if you are idle for a while it logs you out so no-one else can use your mumsnet - could be wrong!! :)

MarsselectionboxLady · 09/12/2004 17:05

I also get logged out if I haven't posted or refreshed within about 10 mins (though I'm sure it's much shorter than that) rather annoying

twinkletwinklelittlespook · 09/12/2004 17:14

Me too.Constantly. Gggrrr!

TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 18:05

Me too, as I believe I've mentioned once or....well, multiple times Blush

SantaFio2 · 09/12/2004 18:45

I think it kicks you out if you havent posted in so many minutes

it is annoying isnt it:o

Santasluckylittlehelper · 09/12/2004 19:23

I'm not bothering to log in - you can read and post without logging in, just have to put your username password in like the old days.

I'm not logged in now Grin

TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 19:25

I'm doing that, but either way I keep having to re-do it Angry

Fio, I guess you'll just have to keep posting, eh? :o

jabberwocky · 09/12/2004 19:26

I've been noticing the same just in the last week or so. Have wondered what's up.

hoxtonturkey · 09/12/2004 19:30

but if you post something it logs you in automatically doesn't it? or am i just being dim....

Tinker · 09/12/2004 19:31

I get logged out after a while as, quite annoying.

TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 19:59

Not dim at all hoxtonturkey, it does log you in automatically when you post but THEN IT BL**DY WELL LOGS YOU OUT AGAIN. Grr. (not shouting at you honey)

hoxtonturkey · 09/12/2004 20:02

so the solution is to just keep posting??

thanks for your book recommendation on the unputdownable books thread tamum. am still in pregnancy induced torpor but will definitely read it when i emerge.

motherinfestivemood · 09/12/2004 20:04

Wot book?

buffettheturkeylayer2 · 09/12/2004 20:06

OOh get you and your core stability :)

OP posts:
TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 20:06

I guess you're right- I'll just have to sit here morning noon and night posting random thoughts. It's the only way. :o

I hope you read the book and like it- I'm dying to discuss it with someone! It's not perfect but so involving. Are you far along with pregnancy? Not sure I could have faced the book in a hormonal state,it's about the murder of a young girl (you find out on the first page, I'm not giving the game away). Hope the torpor gets better soon :)

hoxtonturkey · 09/12/2004 20:08

the pressure is on! i'm almost 10 weeks, so i fervently hope i'll get some energy back soon. i will buy it on monday though at the nice big waterstones on oxford street.

TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 20:10

You'll be blooming before you know it :)

hoxtonturkey · 09/12/2004 20:11

ha bloody ha :o

hoxtonturkey · 09/12/2004 20:12

sorry tamum, that sounded really rude, & i promise i'm not really, just a hormonal mess!

TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 20:14

I thought it was funny actually, having established personally that the whole "blooming" thing is an urban myth :)

hoxtonturkey · 09/12/2004 20:16

glad it's not just me who's a jaundiced old cow then....

this is an impressive thread hijack!

Carla · 09/12/2004 20:23

I'm logged in when I haven't???

alibubbles · 10/12/2004 07:37

I'm getting peed off with the whole site freezing when I scroll down through the messages to see if I want to read them, I never get past Pregnancy, so end up only reading last hour which ou don'y have to log in for.
