Is it just me - this site is SO SLOW!

It takes ages to load, to scroll and crashes quite frequently. I don't have this problem with the other tabs I have open.

I find the site always crashes if I don't actively use it for 5 minutes, and then it won't reload.

Same here taking ages for attached photos to load. I tend to give up and go somewhere else.

I used to use only the mobile site on my iPhone. It became so unbearably slow that I had to swap to the App, despite disliking the look and feel. Then the quote function in the App broke so that text entered after a quote doesn’t always appear, making most threads unreadable.

So I’m pretty much done now to be honest.

Me too. Even KF, which is under constant DDOS attack, is faster at the moment.

Hi all - sorry you've had issues with the speed of the site. It would help us if you could let us know which device and browser you're using when the site runs slow or crashes. When this happens, are you on a particularly long thread or is it generally? Thank you.

Just generally crashes, slow to load, randomly refreshes and so any post you were writing vanishes.
Ever since the upgrade.

Chrome browser
Threads of any length. All times of the day. It's usually when I tab back onto the site from doing something else on my phone/ a period of inactivity. Taking easily over a minute to load back up again, refresh doesn't work.

I suspect it's the ads as when the page does finally start to load it shows a grey "Advertisement" box at the point in the thread it's been stuck at for a few more seconds before that ad catches up.

Chrome, Samsung galaxy s10. Crashes when the thread is long. Impossible to post (can take over 10 minutes) when threads are long. Continual 'this page has expired' warnings.

If you haven't already, are you able to try clearing your cache? It can sometimes help with these issues. We know it's frustrating but if you're able to give it a go, then please do. If you need instructions on how to do this, we can post them.

i find it v annoying since the new improved site.
it was fine before.
now v clunky, awkward to use.

I find it most irritating when opening longer threads or waiting for it to find the bookmark..

I do load all posts instead of using pages, as prefer to scroll down, but it was always instant on old site.

We know it's frustrating to be given workarounds, but please could you change the amount of posts you're viewing for now? It really does help.

Haven’t had this until the recent upgrade. And now getting stuff like this repeatedly on certain threads - not all. So I can’t post even if I want to. (Not that anyone would care but still!)

I understand that viewing a low amount of posts per page may make it better. Sometimes on the more fast moving threads though (and perhaps slightly contentious threads) if you do that, you don’t get to read all the posts before someone makes it go pooft.

I like to read a bit of a bunner from time to time.

Should say when I first try to look at certain threads this flashes up very briefly. Then it tries to reload and I get the black background message.
