Bottom menu bar floating around

Hi @Spudlet - thanks for letting us know, and for posting all the details plus the screenshot - it's always handy!

We'll take a look into this for you but can you please let us know when this started happening?

DawnMumsnet · 15/08/2022 14:39

Oh, intermittent faults are their favourite and their best Wink

Typical that it's stopped happening now, though. We're having a look anyway - we had a recent, similar issue on Chrome so we're just checking if it's related.

DH is a web dev, I can always tell when the fault is intermittent from the level of chuntering emanating from the kitchen table area… pass them a cup of tea and leave them to it is my advice 😂

Good advice! Though not sure it helps when you're working remotely... virtual tea doesn't go down so well Brew

Anyway, we've been trying to replicate this issue, without much joy. Are you by any chance browsing on a tab that sits in group, i.e. have you used the ‘Tab Group’ option in Safari, just so we can rule that out?

DawnMumsnet · 15/08/2022 16:55

Ha! Can you maybe give your DH a nudge and ask him? You might need to prime him with tea first, obviously...

Alternatively, there was something similar going on on this recent thread (re Chrome, not Safari, but it's worth a look) - Bottom of screen bar is floating

Here's what BeckyMumsnet said, in case it helps to explain the issue -

We've managed to reproduce this and it looks like it happens frequently when using Chrome's 'tab in group' feature - when you open more than one tab in the same page. We're investigating how to stop this happening, but some suggestions in the meantime:

Hide the shortcuts (from the dropdown subnav menu) and see if it still happens
Copy the Mumsnet link and open it as a new tab (not a group)
Try refreshing the page
More information can be found here.

Thanks again Spudlet - it sounds like you haven't got your tabs grouped together, so that rules one thing out, at least!

Just let us know if this crops up again Smile
