We're very excited on account of the fact that we've got some new blood round here at Mumsnet Towers in the form of the very lovely CatherineMumsnet. She's here to do general site duty/ editorial bits n bobs and to look after competitions while Olivia goes off to have her baby. (Did we tell you Olivia was preggers - we're very excited about that too?)

Anyway you'll be seeing Catherine around and about - we know you'll be nice and gentle, after all we've all been the the new girl on the block in our time .

(Am just scheduling her in for weekend duty next full moon by way of an initiation).

Hello Catherine - may i ask ? ' how does it feel to be the first NEWBIE that anyone likes?'

SlightlyMadShrek · 18/01/2008 14:40

We need a profile......come on learn a bit quicker

I have a theory.

They won't let Olivia have Mat leave (Justine and Carrie didn't get leave did they???), so just so we don't think MNHQ are bully employers they have renamed her Catherine, so Olivia stays, slogs her guts out whilst in labour and giving birth, changes name to Catherine, so we all think MNHQ are the best emplyers in teh world.

6m later after Stat Mat leave Catherine gets the imaginary sack, changes name back to Olivia....and we all carry on as norma????

TheMuppetMuggle · 18/01/2008 14:40

Absolutely. Don't worry a bit about your apostrophes. And you can always ask if you're a bit puzzled about which flavour of Fruit Shoot to choose.

suzycreamcheese · 18/01/2008 17:30

BabiesEverywhere · 18/01/2008 17:41

Welcome Catherine

Olivia, Have a lovely time off on maternity (when you go).

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 18/01/2008 17:52

You are very welcome.

This honorary MNer is a real piece of work and must be avoided at all times.

You are missing an apostrophe, go to detention after school please.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 18/01/2008 21:01

Do you think CatherineMumsnet can really handle being here? Because if so, she needs to get her head around this a bit sharpish! Sorry CatherineMumsnet, but someone has to introduce you...

OliviaMumsnet · 18/01/2008 21:09

Oi Shiny! Be nice

gibberish · 18/01/2008 21:11

Damn that shiny

Congrats olivia. And welcome Catherine! (Dare I say 'out with the old and in with the new'?)

I hope you haven't stuck her in the shed too? I'm sure there must be some employment law against that.

morningpaper · 18/01/2008 21:11

Hello Catherine! I have noticed your name as I have been scuttling around Mumsnet Towers trying to get Justine to look at my Roundup...
