We're very excited on account of the fact that we've got some new blood round here at Mumsnet Towers in the form of the very lovely CatherineMumsnet. She's here to do general site duty/ editorial bits n bobs and to look after competitions while Olivia goes off to have her baby. (Did we tell you Olivia was preggers - we're very excited about that too?)

Anyway you'll be seeing Catherine around and about - we know you'll be nice and gentle, after all we've all been the the new girl on the block in our time .

(Am just scheduling her in for weekend duty next full moon by way of an initiation).

Thanks everyone. It's a PFB so I am very very excited.

I'm not due for a few more weeks yet (end of March) and still have lots to do before I'm even vaguely ready for motherhood - this bump is under strict instructions to stay put for a while.

So you'll catch me around the corridors of MN Towers for a bit longer yet.

Will Catherine be allowed access to the Sacred Spread Sheets containing All The Information About Everybodies Namechanges Ever.... you know, the *ones that Hunker got in such trouble over... or is that only after a suitable probationary period..?

As far as spreadsheets go I've heard that they're sealed in a box with a gold padlock that you can only reach if you cross a rope bridge over molten larva - is this not true?
And with trolls don't we just leave them under the bridge where they belong? As you can tell I'm still learning..!
