Yes - me too. I've googled and they don't seem to be indications of a virus. Bloody irritating though. I delete them...

ZeroFuchsGiven · 14/07/2022 10:49

37 files it has now downloaded in the past hour, they are all different too, some are 15kb and others are 14kb

I have a pop up keeps appearing asking if I want to download f.txt.js - is this part of the same problem?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 14/07/2022 10:53

It looks like it, although I am getting no warning at all it is just randomly downloading these files.

39 now!

Please sort this out @mnhq

Hello everyone. The pop up you're seeing is caused by an ad on the page and right now, we're trying to identify which ad it is. In the meantime, clearing your cache might stop it. If you need help doing this, please let us know what browser you're using and we'll take you through the steps.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 14/07/2022 15:02

If you're experiencing this on Safari, could you please let us know which version you're using as we're trying to replicate it? Thank you. 🙏

It's that Cellular ad isn't it, with the woman's face on it?

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 15/07/2022 12:23

Hello everyone - this will be fixed today. Thanks for all the v helpful info. We'll keep you updated.

Silvercatowner · 16/07/2022 11:51

It hasn't been fixed - my Mac is still downloading these files. I'm using Firefox. I've just cleared the cache so hope that stops it.

Silvercatowner · 16/07/2022 11:55

It doesn't stop it. 2 files downloaded since I cleared the cache 10 minutes ago.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 16/07/2022 12:50

Yes its still happening this morning I do believe @SpindleInTheWind is correct that it is the Cellular ad.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 16/07/2022 15:17

Thanks for letting us know. We'll get back to you ASAP.

TerriblyNaice · 16/07/2022 20:48

I'm not having the downloading problem on my Mac Pro/Safari but constantly needing to close Mumsnet down as it's using too much of my CPU.

Safari messages are displayed suggesting I close the Mumsnet tab.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 16/07/2022 20:53

It’s happening to me on both safari (iPad) and chrome (android mobile). Clearing cache doesn’t work
.

SoosanCarter · 17/07/2022 07:32

KangarooKenny · 17/07/2022 07:34
