No deletion messages since site update

Pixiedust1234 · 30/05/2022 23:00

is this the new way now? Since the site was updated I haven't seen a single deletion message. Is it only available to those posters who pay? Its incredibly annoying going through my I'm on list or I'm watching and not finding something.

I am on android tablet using chrome.

I don't get them either, anymore - on laptop (chrome) or on mobile site (android) Not using an app or Premium.

GlazedDoughnuts · 31/05/2022 13:53

Yes this is very annoying, seeing as a lot of posters post with advice and concern for the OP.

Can anyone tell me what happened to the thread an Op posted last last night about how she made a mistake at work with a dishwasher and her employers were being horrible? I posted on the thread and it has gone now.

yesthatisdrizzle · 31/05/2022 14:00

I'm not getting them since the update.

9 times out of 10 I'm not getting emails when somebody quotes me either. The occasional once comes through, but not all of them. V weird.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 31/05/2022 14:19

I was looking for one I was on in AIBU and it seems to have disappeared with no deletion message. Mobile site on Chrome.

ilovesooty · 31/05/2022 14:21

I can't see any either.

knittingaddict · 31/05/2022 14:47

I'm really annoyed about this. Just posted on an obvious troll thread and I wanted to see the deletion message. MN I'm not going to pay to use this site and am much more likely to leave instead if you take the fun away.

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 31/05/2022 15:41

not getting them here either

LilyMumsnet · 31/05/2022 18:02

Hi OP

Just to let you know - you should be seeing deleted threads and their deletion messages. We're aware of the issue and working on a fix. Flowers

I came in this thread to ask the same, I posted on that thread and it’s just gone with no deletion message, I was concerned for that poster.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 31/05/2022 21:45

Ive just seen a thread im on disappear and ive no idea why

i also don’t know how to delete threads im on, used to be that they would disappear after a few days of not posting and now ive got hundreds

Same it was a really good one too, with a really sanctimonious OP who wanted to pull out of her house sale. Then poof, thread gone (presume deleted?) but nuffink to see humph

ShirleyPhallus · 01/06/2022 07:55

Agreed

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 01/06/2022 10:30

Hot yes that was the one that prompted me.

MichaelMumsnet · 01/06/2022 12:51

Hi all, and apologies about the deletion messages - we have been writing them on threads that we take down but at the moment they're not available to view.

This is because we're rebuilding all of the user lists (the I’m On, Watching etc.) and the deletion messages won't appear until that piece of work goes live.

Unfortunately, it's a large project so it may well be a couple of weeks. In the meantime, we'll try to post reasons for deletion on the live threads before we take them down.

That one was a 'taking a look behind the scenes' deletion message. We had a number of reports (and some concerns of our own) so we took it down to investigate. Apols, but we won't be reinstating it because we're not sure that the OP was here with good intentions.

Sorry @knittingaddict fun is in short supply at the moment. But for the time being we'll try to bring it back with some in-thread deletion messages.

FlibbertyGiblets · 01/06/2022 12:58

Thank you Michael, much appreciated.

MichaelMumsnet · 01/06/2022 13:05

The first question here is fun...
www.mumsnet.com/articles/mumsnet-founder-justine-roberts-puts-users-questions-to-prime-minister-boris-johnson/

ShirleyPhallus · 01/06/2022 13:19

Can we have a transcript so we don’t have to watch boris lying his way through it?

DawnMumsnet · 02/06/2022 14:31

Hi @ShirleyPhallus - we don’t have a transcript of the interview at the moment but will make one available as soon as we can.

In the meantime, here's the follow-up thread where you can see what other Mumsnetters made of it.

Pixiedust1234 · 10/07/2022 15:36

Bumping this up as its been a while. Any update or has it been decided not to bother?

OP posts:
DawnMumsnet · 11/07/2022 17:14

Hi @ShirleyPhallus - you were asking (a few weeks ago, admittedly!) about a transcript for the Boris Johnson interview...

In case you haven't seen it yet, here it is - www.mumsnet.com/articles/transcript-mumsnet-founder-justine-roberts-puts-users-questions-to-prime-minister-boris-johnson/

Sorry for the delay.

DawnMumsnet · 11/07/2022 17:19

@Pixiedust1234 and sorry for the delay to you, too. We definitely haven't decided not to bother - we know how important deletion messages are to everyone using the site. We're just checking when the update is expected to go live and will be back again with an update as soon as possible.

Pixiedust1234 · 11/07/2022 17:26

Thank you. Apologies for the snippy wording but I had just spent twenty minutes trying to find a couple of threads I thought I had posted in. Of course they had been deleted but without the message I was doubting myself, which makes me even snippier Blush

OP posts:
DawnMumsnet · 11/07/2022 17:30

Don't worry - you didn't sound snippy at all Smile

And we're sorry again that this is taking a while. In the meantime, if you need any help finding a thread please drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll do our best to help locate it. It's the least we can do, in the circumstances!
