Option to get rid of the fucking nesting?

It is optional. People don't have to use the quote function.
If as many users hate it as say they do, they just won't use it and it won't be a problem.

That's not really the issue though. It's obvious that posters who don't like it won't use it, the point is that threads become unreadable.

Do you really think that the grey boxes above full of vertical lines are in any way a positive feature of a thread

I don't use the app but if nesting is different there it could make threads nonsense for some.

It's a very common feature and people generally manage quite well after a period of adjustment.

MN could always give it a month and do a poll and give users the chance to vote for or against it.

Yeah exactly, it's standard across the internet, and once people are used to it it's typically used sensibly.
