Slow and error pages?

Yesterday evening the site was very slow to load pages and at one point was showing not available and error notices. This afternoon the pages are still very slow to load. I'm on a laptop and using Google Chrome.

Currently slow to the point of being unusable.
Using Edge on Windows 10

Yep. It's doing it again for me too, complete with error message.

I reckon it's a new MNHQ strategy - by forcing us to wait till we post we might all calm down and post something nice rather than scrapping

I don’t think hq ever actually fixes anything. If they did everything wouldn’t be so slow. I’m not aware of any other popular sites that run this slowly. It’s fucking tedious.

well it has been a bit of a headache so, please can you check whether the servers are overheating?

have there been any flashy tickers and sparkly bits posted, indicating a loss of taste?

If so I suggest you order a covid test for mn and self isolate until you get the result.

You think it would get fixed quicker on weekends as the kids are home from school. No waiting for them to get home before they can look at the problem. Just have to make the decision about is it homework before looking at Mumsnet Servers, or after?

MNHQ just need to kick it and all will be well! That's what one of my DCs told me his teacher did to her computer when it wouldn't work. I admired her even more after that, especially as she climbed up onto her desk to do it in front of the whole primary class, saying cheerfully, 'Don't try this at home, children!'
