Hi everyone, I am investigating this issue. When you say it's vanished, could you be specific. It looks like some of you are reporting that it has vanished on the web version and for some it's on the app. Do you have any screen shots where you can show this not appearing?

Do you also have any idea of a date when this may have started happening?

@TimeIHadSomeTimeAlone do you also have more info about the login issue you mention?

@TimeIHadSomeTimeAlone this sounds like this could possibly be an issue with your cache and you may need to clear your cache to make it work again on Chrome.

Hey, sorry about this! I think I likely broke it. We were doing some work on other bits of the app, and may have broken the bookmark feature. I'm looking into it now, so will hopefully have it fixed soon.

Hey @Scoobygang7 and @Biscuits101 - there is a bug in the Android app (separate to the other bookmarking issues) which I'm currently working on. Hopefully we'll have a fix for you soon!

Hey guys, thanks for your patience - quick update on the Android app bugs.

I've mostly fixed bookmarking. After some previous changes, I needed to rebuild the way it loads, which is why it's taken a little longer to fix, apologies! I'm now just cleaning up some other bugs it's caused, then I'll make another release and let you know.

Your general feedback is really helpful! We unfortunately have to prioritise work on other areas of Talk that need attention, but where there is time, I'm looking at the Android app. It's quite challenging to make fixes because it's an old app, so when you fix one bug, you cause another 3 bugs. As I've nicely demonstrated. 🤦🏼

Hi guys, we've had some progress with the Android iOS app bookmark fix. I have a pre-release version that can be downloaded by going to this link:

Would anyone with an Android device like to try it out? Your feedback helps us catch bugs before we release to everyone else.

Oh sorry @Scoobygang7, when you open the invite, you need to then select one of the links shown, that takes you to the Play Store. Then you should see (Beta) in the title.

Ah good to hear. Yes, hopefully we'll have some time to work on the Android app, although the iOS app has had years more work put into it. So it's unlikely to catch up, but certainly should improve.

Ah yes I've noticed that, it's happening because it's trying to repeatedly load new posts. Should be possible to fix it.

It's been tough to maintain the Android app because it requires a different skill set to our other platforms. I've only recently been learning how it works, and it's very time consuming! We have lots of other projects we're working on, so it's not always possible to prioritise.

@Scoobygang7 I've just uploaded another build of the Android Talk app that should have fixed the jumping at the end of a thread. Check the Play Store again for an update to the Beta release.

There are a few edge cases I may have missed, so let me know if you see anything worse than before 😆 I've taken the opportunity to upgrade a lot of things in the background...which can cause other problems on certain devices.

My bookmarks are working ok but they have always changed colour and still do both on lattop/Firefox and android phone which is a problem if they aren't meant to Smile

This actually does happen in the iOS app. If I get the chance to add it to the Android app, I will, but there's a few other things that need fixing first.

Hey guys, a quick update, v3.17 of the Android Talk app is now available for beta testing, with some improvements and requested features:


  • Fixed some of the weird visual bugs
  • Added ‘read indicator’ for threads
  • Fixed a number of crashes

If you aren’t already using the Beta version of the app, you can join it here, then download it straight from the Play Store.
*This is a beta version and may be a bit buggy.
