Can we ask what device and browser you're using to access the site?

iPad. Chrome.

This happened to me on Chrome. I couldn't get it to work, tried logging out but then couldn't log back in. Gave up in the end.

I'm using Firefox now, which works normally.

Working normally for me here - mac laptop, safari and also iphone and safari

Happens to me regularly. Safari on an iPhone.

Using the app on iPhone. Mine has disappeared as well.

Really frustrating. Please fix it.

Hi everyone, I am investigating this issue. When you say it's vanished, could you be specific. It looks like some of you are reporting that it has vanished on the web version and for some it's on the app. Do you have any screen shots where you can show this not appearing?

Do you also have any idea of a date when this may have started happening?

I think it was a couple of weeks ago, not sure.

The login problem was that I logged out (because of the bookmark function being gone) and when I tried to log back in again, it wouldn't complete the action, it just left me with the spinning circle whatsit. I tried a few times (this was Chrome on my laptop) and the same happened, so I went to Firefox.

It'd be great if it got fixed though, as my poor ancient laptop doesn't like Firefox!

Everything is fine on the mobile app, which is what I'm using right now.

No, but could you alter it so that you can simply click again to UN bookmark something? Almost all of mine result from me accidentally brushing the bookmark icon and there not being an easy way to undo it.

@TimeIHadSomeTimeAlone this sounds like this could possibly be an issue with your cache and you may need to clear your cache to make it work again on Chrome.

I had the same issue. Turns out you can turn off bookmarking altogether which I have done.

I don't know why there can't be an unbookmark option but in the absence of it turning it off was the best option.

I can bookmark and when I revisit the page it jumps to the Bookmarked post but the post does not change colour.

Safari on Mac.

@MoleSmokes I don't believe the post is supposed to change colour. Is that how this feature has behaved for you in the past?

Mmmm . . . it does when I access the mobile site on an iPhone using iCab browser (set to be recognised as Mobile Safari).

(I have never used the App so it's not that.)

I haven't accessed Mumsnet on a computer for a while so maybe I am getting muddled up.

But I don't ever remember having a problem before in identifying which post is bookmarked.

I have been scanning up and down the screen to spot the "greyed over" bookmarked post when I go back to a thread.

Am I dreaming that it ever did this on the Mac Desktop version??

Android user here. Click on my watches and the bookmarks there but it takes me to start of the thread. So in effect bookmark is useless. This is only happening since yesterday's update. Secondly writing this I using chrome on phone its extremely lagging

I have rechecked and on threads where I have bookmarked a post, returning either takes me to the start of the thread or the top of the page containing the bookmarked post.

In case it is relevant: on both desktop (Mac, Safari) and mobile (iPhone, iCab masquerading as Mobile Safari) I have preferences set to display 100 posts per page.

I'm on the app (android) I get a message saying see older posts at the top of the page but I have to scroll down to find the bookmark mark.

My hide and unwatch function isn't working properly either, I've logged out, deleted and reinstalled the app?

Tis is happening to me today on the Android App. IT updated overnight and now won't take me to the bookmarks that I've put in place today, only the ones that were in place before the update.

The bookmarks are working 'virtually' because I have checked on the desktop site and the new bookmarks from this morning work.

THis makes the Android App unworkable for me and it was pretty poor before this.
