Ads cutting out phone audio

Is anyone else having this issue: the new ads that contain audio keep cutting out whatever audio is playing on your device?

I wish I was listening to music or a podcast but in reality the ads are cutting out the white noise I'm playing on spotify to help the baby go to sleep.

This is soooo annoying @mumsnetHQ can you get rid of these please? Extra points if you remove the ones of Gemma bloody Collins.

@mnhq any update on this? If anything it's getting worse! The only pages I don't get it are TIA and Watching. Every single thread has this

I've come in here to find out if others had this issue, it's getting so bad I'm ready to leave Mumsnet once and for all. Every thread I read the advert starts up an audio/video separate to the thread and overrides any audio I'm currently using. It's making the threads jumpy as hell too. The audio/ad will stay playing as a separate item even if I've closed the thread/Mumsnet, I have to manually remove the audio everytime, I've added a photo to show what I mean with the audio opening up separately to MN @MNHQ please can we sort this?

Just to show the audio continues playing I've taken a screenshot of the audio playing while looking through the list of active threads (as I haven't shut it down yet)

Still happening @mnhq

Bear with us - we're getting our tech team to take a look.

ScottishStottie · 19/11/2020 20:41

Ahhh @thehobbitmum that has cleared up why my car bluetooth has been trying to play 'mumsnet' as standard rather than my spotify!

Very very annoying... Its defo made me go on mn a lot less often than i had been.

TheHobbitMum · 19/11/2020 20:58

Yeah, I've missed important calls as the MN ads have taken priority for audio when on my headphones :( Hopefully it'll be fixed soon as I can't be on MN while this is happening on every thread, it's frustrating

ScottishStottie · 19/11/2020 21:14

I hadnt really noticed the adverts themselves at all, my phone is always on silent so wasnt aware of the silence being interupted. So couldnt figure out why my music wasnt playing automatically in the car like it should have been!

TheHobbitMum · 19/11/2020 21:47

I'm just glad it wasn't only me 😂 I've not long installed a software update and it started happening just after that, it could be a coincidence as I'm useless with tech so I've no idea if it's relevant or not 😂
