Can we please have something done about the ableism and mask exemption hatred on here.

@MNHQ Its been running rampant on the AIBU and Coronavirus boards on here for months and is now starting to leak into Chat too.

Its getting ridiculous. There needs to be a zero tolerance with this as there is with racism. I got banned for a week last month for losing a rag and name calling but this was after months of this discrimination on here.

It needs to be treated in the same way racism is. Which is just as abhorrent But it isnt.

Seriously something needs to be done, even if it's just a sticky somewhere. The fact is simple - the NHS has collectively refused letters of exemption and everyone has help they can rely upon so must go out without masks - our council in fact refuse to help sheilders at all this time.

I'm without meds and food today because of the abuse I suffered in a shop yesterday triggering my PTSD. By someone not wearing a mask properly.

Please. This needs to be sorted out, it's encouraging people to be abusive to people in real life.

Sorry, NOT everyone has help ...

DianaT1969 · 18/01/2021 13:00

OP, what are your feelings about people who don't or can't wear a mask shopping online instead?

Becca19962014 · 18/01/2021 13:19

Not everyone has the ability to do online shops (being rural not withstanding); if, and it's a big if, there are slots to be had. My understanding is its very hard to get food deliveries because so many are getting deliveries. I don't know if it's the same elsewhere but our shops have drastically reduced their opening hours during lockdown - I've no idea how people who work shifts get food here as everywhere closes at 7pm now.

Sorry, just realised your question was directed at the OP! Opps Blush
