Of 4188 secondary schools in the UK, 163 are Grammar Schools (selective), and around 7% of children attend private fee-paying schools.
I think the 93% state, and 96% non-selective would prefer not to trawl through endless threads about the11plus and which private schools have the best character-building small classes. It is so unrepresentative of the population as a whole and such a misleading take on the educational landscape in the UK.
Those who do choose to or wish to go down this route might feel better and less "got at" and defensive if there were separate boards for Selective (Rejective??!) or Fee paying education.
Or is it just me...?
