What is with the earwax advert?!

Is it just me? I keep getting these adverts about how to get rid of earwax, with a horrible picture of earwax on a finger! It makes me feel sick to see it.

And I definitely haven't been googling about earwax!

Just posting again to say I'm still getting these ads. Anything you can do to get rid of them would be appreciated!

I'm on an Android phone on the website on Chrome.

Hi @LemonChiffon,

Sorry you're still being put off by these ads.

We think these are AdChoices ads, meaning they're based on your browsing history, and not adverts that have been placed by us.

Is there a blue triangle in the top right hand corner of the ad? If so, you can click on the X beside it if you no longer wish to see the advert.

I have tried clicking the cross before but I'm still getting them.

A number of other people on this thread have had the same ads - I'm sure we haven't all been googling earwax (I certainly haven't!)

How do they think these photos will make people want to click the link?!

We'll have another word with our Ads team to see if there's anything they can do, but as these ads don't fall under the umbrella of what we'd call 'malicious ads', we're a bit limited.

We completely get how off-putting they are, though (especially when you've fixed yourself a cuppa and a piece of toast) so for now, keep hitting that blue cross and we'll see if there's anything else that can be done at our end.

Thank you!
