Can you please, please ask the group of MNers that are using this term to stop coming onto CV related threads and throwing this word around? For whatever reason, they are being given carte blanche over their own series of threads which they use to mock and insult other MNers, but to continue throwing their tuppence into other threads in the Coronavirus topic screams of attention seeking.

I'm not sure why even using the term 'Dementor' to describe other posters is seen as okay, but if they'd not insert it into other conversations, this place would be a bit more pleasant at the moment.

I think allowing a thread on MN to mock other posters on MN is NITS.

I think abusing posters who are struggling, or whose children are struggling, or are asking a legitimate question about permitted activity is NITS.

I'm not disputing that some posters are awful on the Corona threads, I'm just uncomfortable with MN allowing a thread mocking what other people post on here.

I've definitely also had "its people like you which means we will be in lockdown until Christmas" etc etc and thst WAS because I went to two supermarkets inONE DAY

There is very very little mocking going on on those threads, if any. The vast majority are regular posters who are really struggling mentally with various aspects of the lockdown and need a slightly more optimistic outlook. Many are suffering from anxiety and found that constantly being shouted down by others was destroying them. Many people have said those threads are a lifeline. So that is ITS. If others aren’t interested, they don’t have to read them.

Is this now not a thread about a thread?

They must have changed then because the last time I looked at one posters were quoting other posters and linking to threads.
