We live in hope.

PortiaCastis · 09/01/2020 13:00

Why cant threads about the Royal Family vile or not vile be put into the correct topic, it seems very odd that they're not

katzenellenbogen · 09/01/2020 13:13

I have posted before asking whether it is possible for all the things that so blatantly aren't an AIBU question to be moved into their appropriate topics.

Anyway, apparently I was being very unreasonable to ask this, and I am not the thread police.

I am off to stand in the naughty corner with @Sparklingbrook

FlibbertyGiblets · 09/01/2020 13:28

katzenellenbogen me too. I'm not the Thread Police either and should Know Better and anyway if I don't like it I should just Go Away. Alrighty then.

katzenellenbogen · 09/01/2020 13:54

@FlibbertyGiblets - good on you. Come and join us in the "We're not the thread police" naughty corner.

I expect the "naughty corner" is also a MN no-no

Theworldisfullofgs · 09/01/2020 13:58

You moved brexit threads to the brexit corner and that is still a hot topic and will effect us for decades. This has no impact on anyone apart from enabling some people to be both sexist and racist.

Why the double standard?

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 09/01/2020 21:07

Please make it stop
I've hidden as many as I can but they keep popping up
Am off for a bit
And next time I write a TAAT or post in the wrong topic that'll be grand won't it

OP posts:
PortiaCastis · 09/01/2020 21:08

Yes please make it stop!

Sparklingbrook · 09/01/2020 21:11

YY another one has just appeared.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 09/01/2020 22:23

And another one
Dear god can you imagine if something actually serious and important happened....

OP posts:
EdithWeston · 09/01/2020 22:26

Just move them all to the topic.

Then they're all there for those who want them, and easily hidden in a one-r (by hiding the topic) for those who don't.

Plenty of precedent for moving to the correct topics, regardless of where originally started.

And the more threads are moved, the more the tools c gets used.

Win/win

Cohle · 09/01/2020 22:28

People post in AIBU and chat all the time when more appropriate topics are available. It would be pretty hypocritical of MNHQ to suddenly sweep in now and start enforcing the use of topics, just because some posters can't be arsed hiding threads that don't interest them.

PaprikaPringle · 09/01/2020 22:29

Why don't you just hide them?

SyntheticPumpkin · 09/01/2020 22:32

Even if you hide them they still appear on Trending.

I wonder if that’s everyone opening the threads to click on hide - really wish there was a way to hide threads without opening.

It really is never ending.

BrokenHeartedAndBruised · 09/01/2020 23:54

It's Sussexit. At least a few of the threads call her Meghan.

Yestermost · 09/01/2020 23:56

Plèeeeeeaassseeee

Liriope · 10/01/2020 00:05

Agree with Theworld, why was MN so hot on moving / deleting Brexit threads? The moment anything on Brexit was posted it was pushed off to the Brexit board in two seconds flat.

"Hi, thanks so much for raising this. We know it's Brexit is a pretty hot topic at the moment and lots of users want to discuss."

IfThingsComeInThreesWhyThisNow · 10/01/2020 00:39

So Ten threads in total? I could hide them, course I could, I just like things being tidy

No, not that one, I'm talking about the classic Jason Statham film about a megalodon> Wink What do you mean, Meg's got a load on. Have I seen SussexRoyal? She's a megalomaniac.

As the lovely Home sitcom had it - liking Jerusalem is as patriotic as it's acceptable for the British to be, any more than that - nutter. One day you like Jerusalem, next you're going to air shows and wanking over jigsaw puzzles of Princess Anne. Grin Crown

"MNHQ to suddenly sweep in now and start enforcing the use of topics, just because some posters can't be arsed hiding threads that don't interest them"

It wouldn't be sudden or new - they do this already

And why should AIBU be diluted with threads that belong elsewhere just because some posters can't be arsed to use the topics.

The topic for the Royal family was set up in response to MNers asking for it - precisely so all Royal threads would get moved there.

Samcro · 10/01/2020 08:37

every thread is the same, just a lot of sexist blaming the woman and saying how thick and weak the man is. the fact this thread is called Megxit sums that up a bit.
they could all be called TATS really.
I wonder is its about clicks as I can't think why else they are not moved or deleted as not in the spirit.
