Pressing ‘back’ to Active takes me to top of Active page

For the last week, if I click on a thread from Active and then click the back button, it doesn’t go back to where I was on Active, but rather to the top of the Active page. It makes for a lot of unnecessary scrolling!

Anyone else having this? I’m using the website in an iPhone, if that’s relevant.

AgentProvocateur · 01/12/2019 05:42

Me too. It’s incredibly annoying.

Lieinrequired · 01/12/2019 06:01

Same for me. I thought it was my rubbish old phone. The same happens with the BBC news website.

LikeSilentRaindrops · 01/12/2019 10:07

Good to hear it’s not just me! @mnhq could you take a look at this please?

Hello!

We'll ask Tech to look at this. If any of you can add here what devices and browsers you're using and whether you're on the main site or the app that should help Tech work out what's going wrong. Thank you!

AgentProvocateur · 01/12/2019 14:38

I’m on the mobile site using safari on iPhone 6.

LikeSilentRaindrops · 02/12/2019 21:56

It seemed a bit better yesterday - but back to the same problem today...

I use the app and it does this too. Also, if you click out of the app to do something else, then click back in, it immediately takes you back to the home page, not where you left off. V annoying.

Ridingthegravytrain · 03/12/2019 07:31

Same here on safari on iPhone 5

Lieinrequired · 03/12/2019 10:34

iPhone SE and safari

soniamumsnet · 03/12/2019 14:06

Hi, thanks for the reports on this. Please can you ensure that you're using the most up to date browser.

You can check if your browser is up to date on an iphone by going to: General > Software update. If it is up to date can you let us know what the version number is?

Let us know if you still experience issues after updating and we'll take a further look.

Also, is this only happening on Active please? If not, please let us know any other locations on the site. Flowers

AgentProvocateur · 03/12/2019 14:41

@soniamumsnet, my browser is up to date (IOS13.2.3). Still happening.

soniamumsnet · 03/12/2019 15:28

Hi @AgentProvocateur thanks for providing that extra information. We'll take another look and get back to you as soon as possible. Smile

msmith501 · 03/12/2019 15:39

Me too. IPhone 6 Plus using app

Hundredacrewoods · 05/12/2019 19:29

Still happening

Ridingthegravytrain · 06/12/2019 12:41

Seems to be ok now. Thanks

AgentProvocateur · 06/12/2019 20:13

Still happening for me.

LikeSilentRaindrops · 08/12/2019 04:23

Hmmmm. happening again for me now

LikeSilentRaindrops · 09/12/2019 10:27

Bump for @mnhq...

soniamumsnet · 09/12/2019 14:23

Hi,

Thanks for all your reports and for being patient while we take a look.

It's worth resetting your browser settings to see if this fixes the issue.
To do this on an iPhone, please go to:

Settings>safari>advanced>website data> scroll to the bottom and click “Remove all website data”

Let us know if you still have problems. Smile

Ridingthegravytrain · 10/12/2019 10:25

I did that. It worked twice and then went back to going to the top of the page again

AgentProvocateur · 10/12/2019 17:00

I’ve reset my settings and it’s still taking me back to the top of the page. Sad

AgentProvocateur · 13/12/2019 22:54

Hi, this is still happening for me. Is it doing it for anyone else?

LikeSilentRaindrops · 14/12/2019 04:27

Yes, same as @Ridingthegravytrain - resetting worked briefly, but now back to the same problem. Have only noticed it on Active, but it’s rendering the site unusable for me.
