Happinessisabook · 27/05/2019 17:31

Yup. S9 and chrome here.

DoomOnTheBroom · 27/05/2019 17:32

If it's any help, these were the ads at the time it was popping up.

Pinotjo · 27/05/2019 17:38

I'm getting a voice saying congratulations, I'm using a Samsung s6 on chrome

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 27/05/2019 17:48

Same here.

It does make me laugh (hollowly) when MNHQ ask questions like which device are you using? Why should it matter if its on 1 device or browser or all of them? The problem is so clearly at there end that it seems absolutely pointless to ask. How is me telling you which browser and device I'm on going to help? MNHQ were alerted to this problem this morning and it's still happening.

This along with the other recent issues is leading me to question if they have any IT experience or if they are actually fixing problems at all.

Seriously?

The simplest way to put it is that different browsers and different devices use different code. Some things may work fine on Chrome and display differently on Safari, for example.

One of the screenshots above specifically mentions Samsung - different manufacturers have different safeguards in place to protect against dodgy content. Knowing this can help track down the problem.

Do you think they’re just asking for the fun of it?

OhForkItThen · 27/05/2019 17:58

Tbf I haven’t had it in my browser or on the app

BiBiBirdie · 27/05/2019 18:00

Yep
On Google pixel 3, on Chrome
Been getting it on here and then if I go out the site it keeps popping up on everything afterwards but as those you have won something crap

Yes but even before this thread people had mentioned the above error on numerous platforms. As soon as they are alerted to this issue surely by multiple users they should apply common sense assume its not just an isolated incident to one device or platform.

50 people telling them which phone and browser they are using is not going to help speed up fixing the issue. There is so clearly a huge hole in MN that is allowing all sorts of bugs and viruses etc to filter through.

The fact they are not taking the other issues reported over the last month seriously. It's shocking that they are not advising users not to use the site whilst they determine the threat. It shows a lack of care for their users.

Victormeldrew1 · 27/05/2019 18:03

Same

S1naidSucks · 27/05/2019 18:04

iPhone Started when I was on the feminist pages.

AliDran · 27/05/2019 18:21

Samsung s9 and chrome. It's quite bad atm

GinLimeandLemonade · 27/05/2019 18:22

This is SO infuriating. It's taken me 5+ tries to even comment on this thread because it kept kicking me off 👎 (I'm using Chrome on a Samsung phone)

Apparentlychilled · 27/05/2019 18:23

Me too. Huawei and Google chrome.
