WHY is it 100 times harder to write on mn than it ever has been??

So have had this for a few months, basically when writing in the msg box the words are delayed in showing up whilst im typing, then when they do appear, autocorrect has completely changed some words meaning I haven’t to edit each post as they tend not to make sense, it also adds in random capital letters....

I use Safari on iPad, and use the website not the app. It never used to be like this and it’s putting me off mn as each post is such a slog.

It doesn’t happen on any other website so can only conclude it so an Mn issue

Is there any point in posting these daily reports? Should I report each time, or should I wait until MNHQ post asking questions?

Still happening here. Only on MN. The longer the thread is the harder it is to read and type.

I have spent over 3 mins on a thread this evening, with the keyboard up and the cursor blinking in the post box. I typed:
What
and then waited for the word to appear in the post box, but nothing happened. I then considered the possibility that typing it had only occurred in my imagination so typed:
w
and waited for that to appear in the box, either as 'w' or as 'Whatw'

A further minute ticked by while I considered typing another 'w', but decided that, on balance, life was too short to waste on random Ws, so clicked away.

Nothing I typed showed up. Not 'What', nor 'Whatw', nor even poor little lonesome 'w'.

I typed all that elsewhere and copied it to here.

Still having issues here too. Interestingly although I thought it was only mn it seems to be happening on tesco groceries too, the lagging anyway. It’s sooooooo frustrating and like others I’m forced into having to c&p from a word document just to write a post on mn. I updated my ipad recently hoping that might fix it, but no, still the same for me.

Typing is so slow. Letters need to catch up theb respell something else

Really bad today, on iMac Safari and letters take ages to appear when typing and there is the spinning ball of slowness (looks like a beachball and spins when pages don't open)

Drearful today. Slooow typng, pages taking ages to load, clicks on active, threads I'm on/watching etc taking ages/not loading.

RIGHT I spent ages last night fiddling with settings and I think I’ve made a difference a little

Go to settings, general, reset then keyboard reset, enter your passcode and the keyboard should reset....
Seems to have improved it a little for me! Worth a try...

MNHQ, are you really content to leave it like this? If it's an ad that you can't afford to run the site without, then I think mist of us would be fairly forgiving, but just leaving us dangling like this is not really fair.

I am really struggling as this problem is still ongoing, at times unusable at times OK if used with much patience.

My heart and head tell me that there is no other site like MN, that coupled with my naturally loyal nature, and so I shouldjust stick with it and put up with it, but that'soo close to the fight we have with women who are being abused (yes, I knowit's nothing like tht really, but 'put up and shut up' seems tobe what you are saying to us here -oh we're looking at it, w'll sort it soon etc).

You can see from that paragraph how shit it is, and I have correced the wor of it.

Oh blimey My DP bought me a new iPad a few months ago as I was having real trouble typing online and he presumed it was because mine was quite old. Turns out I only really type on MN and it was probably this issue rather than my trusty iPad. As it happens, I don’t use it much anymore (got into the habit of using my phone while it was causing me grief!) so I haven’t noticed if it’s better or not. Whoops.

We're really sorry to hear it seems to be worse, unfortunately we still don't really have an update on this. Please do rest assured we haven't forgotten about it though - we are still looking into it.

And now I'm getting the accept cookies page popping up at every opportunity' on top of everything else.

At Some point I'm going to record what trying to post is like and i'll send it to you. It is a bloody nightmare.

I’ve pretty well given up with Safari on iPad, just try it every couple of weeks to see if the ‘glitch’ has been fixed, and use my phone the rest of the time. Total crap on iPad- screen freezes, continually reloads or chucks me off. No problem on any other site, just MN, and it’s been three months now so can’t see it bring sorted anytime soon.

Nor can I. I suspect they thithat it nly affects a few people and we shouldn't be using the desktop site anyway, if only we would change to the a then it wouldn't be a problem. No, it wouldn't of course. But the app is ghastly so I sip,y don't want to use it.

AHHHHHH it’s so much worse today than it has been, for whatever reason the page keeps jumping about randomly, eg I’m reading a thread and suddenly it skips down the page!? Why?! Aggghhhhh

I have switched off auto-correct and all that stuff, but it's not really made much difference, though it has made a little. Whether it's enough to be worth it remains be seen.

I get this too. It's sporadic, I think of it as sticky typing. You type a word, and then it just does nothing, then slowly spells it out and sometimes changing, it, or if you try to go back a letter it deletes the whole sentence.

It's only this site and it's not all the time. It comes and goes but it's really annoying.
