WHY is it 100 times harder to write on mn than it ever has been??

So have had this for a few months, basically when writing in the msg box the words are delayed in showing up whilst im typing, then when they do appear, autocorrect has completely changed some words meaning I haven’t to edit each post as they tend not to make sense, it also adds in random capital letters....

I use Safari on iPad, and use the website not the app. It never used to be like this and it’s putting me off mn as each post is such a slog.

It doesn’t happen on any other website so can only conclude it so an Mn issue

This morning it is horrendous. Just lost a long post because the page reloaded after it wouldn't allow me to delete something.

It is becoming unbearable at times.

I have noticed that it is better if you are posting a short reply. It fucks up the most if you want to write more than one paragraph.

It's definitely a changeable thing, and yes, the further I get down the text the more wading-through-mud like it becomes.

On another talking site I use, its far far worse. My keyboard goes into swipe mode, making words by drawing a line between one letter and the next. I end up with green lines all over my keyboard, and when I hit 'enter' it pops up the emoji's!!!

Another thing mine does is when finished writing text and pressing post the options at the bottom of the screen immediately jump up to cover post and you end up hitting search instead. Bloody infuriating when you've put a lot o time and effort in to being accurate, copying correctly, checking user names and then correcting all your keyboard crazies

FFS it's impossible to post anything at all now. There is a pause/reload after every keystroke! (have had to C&P this message).

It's chewing through data. It's like everything I do is copied and submitted repeatedly

I've noticed that there's a small ad box which always loads first. Often nothing else seems to load until i scroll a bit up or down at which point the thread appears on a more forward layer and the ad is no longer visible.

Is that relevant?

Yes! Everything hangs until that small box ad loads

Although i have to say, it is very much worse on another site I use which is ad free!?

Very slow loading threads and am getting the spinning ball of slowness, sometimes when I type it doesn't keep up, using Safari on iMac OS Mojave 10.14.01

Also have ABP adblocker on

Similar on iPad but also getting that Safari had to reload the page.

I have exactly the same - laggy keyboard and deleting multiple words instead of just one character. Using an android phone.

I can only use mobile site, desktop seems to permanently freeze any threads I open.
I'm on iPad, Safari, have Adblock on but still getting that infuriating blank box at top left hand side of screen - it never loads completely.
Quite frankly I'm getting to the end of my patience now, it's been at least two months and nothing's changed.

V frustrating still though it's fractionally better today.

The ad doesn't seem to be so disruptive today. Thank you!

However, typing is still lagging and deleting for amendment is still chaotic.

Links are largely unresponsive.

(And this thread is better than the others I try to post on, though still not fantastic itself!)

Yep this has been happening for a few months and it only happens on mumsnet!

On another device now, and completely different. Easy peasy, no lagging, barely perceptible.

@Jux have you recently updated your chrome? I just wonder if there is any connection between our issues.
Having just logged onto MN on my tablet I am finding it a far better experience, and the only difference really is the browser, and android version, but your issues with the keyboard sounded exactly the same as mine!

Its a veritable breeze now!

@Shriek, n, I don't use Chrome to access MN most of the time; I use Safari on an iPad. Once in a while I drag out my laptop which uses Chrome but I don't have problems then.

Sorry, I think I'm tired, also a little bit overexcited at the same time at my tablet performing so much better at this task than my phone has been.
On another site its truly unbearable, and the can't help either, but the crazy deletion thin dropping in words and deleting the wrong words drives me crazy. I can stupid green line screen swipes too where the keyboard thinks I'm joining the letters together to form words by swiping!! I might just stick with the tablet! Also there's barely anything else running on this . that might help

@AnyaMN, it is a bit better now, very jerky but the lag seems to have gone. It's pretty much usable atm.

And is this happening just on Mumsnet, or on other sites too? Again, it seems to be that for some of you this is happening just on MN, and some of you it's worse on other sites.

Yes AnyaMumsnet it's still happening for me. Especially trying to type posts - the delay is so bad that I am having to write posts in Notes and then C&P into message box.

It is hugely variable throughout the day. No, it does not happen on other sites, only Mumsnet.
