User name confusion..

There is now a poster using the name @BertrandRusselI- which is a bit confusing. Is that OK? I think I had the name first (aware that sounds a bit playgroundy) and I might be confusing.

Lower case L seem to be an easy target. Something similar happened to me on MN, but they used three l in their username.

I saw that @BertrandRussell it was on the cat thread. Funny she hasn't popped over here when you asked her to, I think that says it all

I saw the cat thread and couldn’t work out what the difference in names was at all, had to come here to see! I would easily have thought you were the same poster.

I saw that and reported it too, Bertrand. Looks deliberate and there's been a few trolls in the past doing the same thing to other 'well known' posters.

Out of interest because I chose my name yonks ago... does it warn you if you have chosen very similar to someone else? I would be mortified if there was a giveit5 or something who had been here longer than me that I didn't know about.... that said.... it feels like the above is a very deliberate nudge to be similar.

I read a couple of posts yesterday from 'you' Bertrand and thought they weren't in your usual posting style. Never noticed the difference in username as it's so slight.

I always thought your username was BertAndRussell and thought you owned pets with those names. Possibly Airedale Terriers.

It doesn't tell you if there's a similar username giveitfive, only if you do an exact copy.

Has s/he stopped posting since this thread was done? Very odd not to pop on to this one having been @'d.

I can not really see the difference in names even after it has been stated, ( not the best eyesight) and op has posted loads which give some her a character and personality and would affect how I might read her posts, so i would find it at best confusing that the name could be one of two people

Because someone on the other thread told me. And then I ASed her just to make sure she wasn't saying anything I disn'r like. Her favourite writer appears to be Katie Price-but apart from that....
