The AMA topic (Sorry)

It needs a warning on threads that says similar to that in legal - that people shouldn’t take the advice as truth and MN can’t vouch for anyone etc.

(Unless there is a fact checking process to go through before you’re allowed to post there? Is there?)

... everyone has the right

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:01

I’ve just tried to find it but I must have hidden it, as I have a lot because they’re too active. I followed it for quite a while. If someone has said something inappropriate it should be reported. Nevertheless one of the things I love about mn is the power to be able to speak. The AMA allows that to happen. I’m very happy that mnhq aren’t micromanaging it.

It’s a fantastic insight into people’s lives and situations which are not normally attainable. Whether some posters approve of the particular situation described by the op or not.

PortiaCastis · 16/07/2018 22:01

Oh lord I haven't seen that one about shagging the teacher at 15 that's child abuse why's she proud of it

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:03

I haven’t seen a sexual photos of children thread, and can’t imagine what form that took.

duckfuckduck · 16/07/2018 22:11

It was called "I watch kiddie porn"

Please could you tell me why coeliac disease isn't placed under the Autoimmune health category as it is an autoimmune disease?

Jankwrs1 · 16/07/2018 22:12

Sorry wrong thread!!😃

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:15

Wow, would the police look into that?

immortalmarble · 16/07/2018 22:16

I think to claim an insight into people’s lives when the people in question are children who have been abused and removed from their birth parents, adults who were victims of sexual abuse as a child and so on - to claim that is ‘fantastic’ Is a tad distasteful. I’m sorry, but I do.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:23

But there are at least 7 pages on the AMA topic, the huge majority are not about abuse.

immortalmarble · 16/07/2018 22:24

Many are about vulnerable people however and not always the people who are posting.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:26

I don’t understand, who are the people who aren’t posting?

immortalmarble · 16/07/2018 22:34

Really? Hmm Counsellors posting about their clients, social workers about their service users, teachers about their students, adoptive parents about their children, do you want me to continue?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/07/2018 22:36

Thanks for the condescending face. So the same as in all the other threads then. Unnamed unspecified people who no one will ever knew.

We’ll see. Until that - if - it happens, it should rightly stay.

immortalmarble · 16/07/2018 22:38

It is not okay, Through

I am not actually trying to be condescending. I am genuinely surprised anyone thinks the things I have listed are in any way acceptable.

Children and vulnerable adults do not exist to feed curiosity. And the people who care for them should know that too.

Mrsmorton · 16/07/2018 22:40

I have my doubts about some of the info that's being posted on there. Nothing big but the odd shibboleth that raises my hackles.

PortiaCastis · 16/07/2018 22:48

I think the sticky. "not everyone is who they say they are". should be applied at the top of those threads

Yes, I feel the same find

WittyJack · 16/07/2018 23:25

Ah, I misread - I thought it was an older teacher posting about sleeping with her 15 year old student.

Still, what good could come out of a thread about a 15 year old having sex with someone much older who was responsible for her pastoral care?? It just sounds like flypaper for perverts who like young girls SadSad
