Sorry if i'm being pushy, i don't know how you get these. but for some mini-posterity i must highlight:

'My friend is called Susan because when her father got to the registry office he couldn't spell Jacqueline. Her mother wasn't too impressed.'

I nominate TranquilaManana

"oh yes, dub dora fgs. and make her a calm british voice. Glaswegian or Bolton accent would be good..."

and make that fiesta trio a colliery brass band to go with it

School fetes.

Spend £27 on guessing weight of cakes and number of smarties in jars and magic squares and raffles and guess name of ugly teddy and bouncy castes.

Win nothing.

Come home with a dd2 with a black eye from being bounced on by a herd of year six boys on the bouncy castle, dd1 with an assortment of very small plastic tat, and a tin of marrowfat processed peas won on the tombola and all of us with early onset hypothermia and trench foot.

Funny one here about the smell of pubs after a smoking ban in scotland

By NoNoNoNo on Wed 27-Jun-07 14:56:50
the one really horrible thing about the smoking ban though, is how bad pubs can smell without a thick smog of cigarette smoke, and lots of matches being lit on a regular basis!

Seriously - pubs that used to have some intellectual cachet, flavoured by(admittedly carcinogenic)cigarette smoke now reek of last nights stale beer, Aldi floor cleaner, cheese and onion crisps and the beerfarts of the overweight gentleman standing behind your seat with his trousers just above your face level.

Don't bother with the lingering, loving looks.

You are wasting your time.

I may be to pregnant to run away from your amorous advances but I can still stab you.

Enid, today probably

I like this from an exasperated Moo on the dogs and parks thread:

So now we've had dogs likened to thunder, broccoli and spiders ... none of which (to the best of my knowledge)

bound about in parks, leap up at small children, crap everywhere, oh...and can possibly rip your face off.

If they did, then I would think they should be on leads too.

AbbyMumsnet · 16/07/2007 13:41

V. funny. Any other nominations for this week?

ggglimpopo · 16/07/2007 13:49

coddy · 16/07/2007 19:43

coddy · 16/07/2007 19:44
