I am boycotting threads about the plight of the McCann family - anyone else?

I have the utmost sympathy for the Mccann family, and hope for a happy ending to thier trouble. Meanwhile I am not happy about many aspects of teh many threads, and hearby resolve to completely boycott them. By not clicking, not reading, nor responding (however horrible the views), and thus not adding to the circular and predicatable route they take, no matter what quality of ontervention is made.

Clasp your right hand over your left Nork and repeat the boycott pledge after me!

nork clasped

lucykate · 03/07/2007 11:31

think this needs bumping

hands firmly clasped on norks ladies

lucykate · 03/07/2007 11:40

have posted this on another thread, i may be wrong on this, but it just seems fishy to me

there is a poster called angeltoangel who has only posted 7 times but twice started threads under the 'in the news' topic about madeleine.

my gut feeling is that this person is a journalist

both threads have been of a controvertial nature. i think mumsnet is being baited and watched

LennyLapin · 03/07/2007 11:43

oh more than likely

tissy · 04/07/2007 08:56

Forgive me, Blu, for I have sinned.

I will clutch again and try to keep the faith.

tissy · 04/07/2007 08:57

b**ger, didn't see lk's note below, wish I'd kept me mouth shut.

MarshaBrady · 04/07/2007 09:01

Yep Im boycotting
(clasps hand, looks dreamily, yet steadfastly to over yonder)

EffiePerine · 04/07/2007 09:05

Was doing this anyway as I find the whole argument v tedious

consider nork clutched and trouser leg rolled

dyb dyb dyb

lulumama · 04/07/2007 09:09

I lapsed

and argued with the Fully Qualified Paediatrician, who thought we are all selfish thoughtless bs

forgive me too , blu, for i have sinned too

tissy · 04/07/2007 09:13

BBBee · 05/07/2007 10:46
hippipotami · 05/07/2007 10:47

I have clasped, and will not be letting go. Those threads are madness, full of mad people spouting madness!

fanella · 05/07/2007 10:51

I take the pledge. I need to so I can stop getting wound up and swearing at ignorant people...

Blu · 05/07/2007 10:59

Thank you for bumping, Tissy.

It's weird - a section of this thread from yesterday has gone missing!

But remember, the idea of the pledge is that by not engaging the argument fizzles out and the madness subsides.

passive resistance is sometimes the most powerful.

Keep it all out of active convos.

bl**dy hell!

Active convos are moving fast this morning!

AbRoller · 05/07/2007 11:40

I promised myself I wouldn't get involved again but I did

Agree the only way to stop it is not to engage.

elesbells · 05/07/2007 12:04

i have too since i pledged...twice i need to go to church

AbRoller · 05/07/2007 12:26

She's still there spitting bile.

Kewcumber · 05/07/2007 12:29

but if you all go an post on it, it will soon enough reach 1000 and will finally die...
