I am boycotting threads about the plight of the McCann family - anyone else?

I have the utmost sympathy for the Mccann family, and hope for a happy ending to thier trouble. Meanwhile I am not happy about many aspects of teh many threads, and hearby resolve to completely boycott them. By not clicking, not reading, nor responding (however horrible the views), and thus not adding to the circular and predicatable route they take, no matter what quality of ontervention is made.

Clasp your right hand over your left Nork and repeat the boycott pledge after me!

bump

SaintGeorge · 22/05/2007 19:52

BIG BUMP

because I have an overwhelming desire to smack someone, or at the very least say something I might regret.

southeastastra · 22/05/2007 20:00

agree with op. and would appreciate my boss not spamming me as if i don't watch the news.

morningpaper · 22/05/2007 20:01

for me this is not so much about stifling discussions, but rather tempering them by providing a constant reminder of the level of discomfort felt by a large number of people about the nature of some of the posts and what many perceive as the obsessive need to pour over every detail.

Yes yes YES Spidermama

Wotzsaname · 22/05/2007 20:14

yes a bump for that thing morningpaper said just down there abit ...

tissy · 22/05/2007 20:18

bump

Pinkchampagne · 22/05/2007 21:21

Bump!

tinkybelle · 22/05/2007 21:24

This thread is as bad as all the others. Why not just boycott the threads quietly instead of ranting on about it?

Wotzsaname · 22/05/2007 21:26

we are not ranting, really we're not.

littlelapinWearsBoden · 22/05/2007 21:28

Very rantless, really.

There's yet another one started now

tinkybelle · 22/05/2007 21:28

which other thread is starting?

lulumama · 22/05/2007 21:30

this thread is importnat, as you cannot see posters , who aren't posting,,it is a way to object, without bumping the other threads and to conspicously show that we are not fuelling the fire...

littlelapinWearsBoden · 22/05/2007 21:31

There's one complaining about emails

2shoesisanoldlady · 22/05/2007 21:32

oops just posted on that one..........am now re doing my oath.(this is cos i didn't have a mentor)

Spidermama · 22/05/2007 21:33

Well I certainly enjoyed the sun today. In fact I may have stayed out slightly too long as my shoulders are a bit pink.

How about you?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/05/2007 21:56

I got sunburn chatting to another mum at pre-school for 20 minutes - at 9.30am this morning

Have enjoyed being in my garden this evening. Its been lovely.

Spidermama · 22/05/2007 21:59

I was on the seafront. At a protest if you will. It was very jolly. We were chanting 'Independent Midwives Delivering Choice' as we weaved down from the West Pier then back along to the RCN HQ. So swept away was I with the energy of campaigning, I actually punched the air a couple of times.

I'm OK now though.

BocoWearsaTabard · 22/05/2007 22:00

Hello what's all the nork clasping going on around here?

littlelapinWearsBoden · 22/05/2007 22:03

Ahh! Forsooth, SquireBoco, how are thou?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/05/2007 22:05

Touch of sunstroke then spidermama?

Spidermama · 22/05/2007 22:06

I shall be sure never again to venture out without my parasol and fan.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 22/05/2007 22:08

LOL! SuffrageSpidey

StinkyPete · 22/05/2007 22:08

op - me

BocoWearsaTabard · 22/05/2007 22:09

Lapin i got so involved with my whole crusader/knight tabard fantasy, that i didn't actually get round to doing any cleaning - and then my friends arrived for lunch - and i sadly felt a little bit resentful at having to stop talking nonsense to imaginary rabbits, and entertain actual warm blooded real people.

Then i worried that i'm spending too much time on mn and losing a grip on reality.

That's been my day.

littlelapinWearsBoden · 22/05/2007 22:12

ROFL . Did you buy those rubber gloves? They were GREAT!

(I'm VERY tempted to post a thread extolling their virtues as a way of "livening up the washing up" - like shootin' fish in a barrel )
