No Florida for me any more. Was tempted back with promises of good weather. Lies, all lies. Freezing and raining.......

Hello Califrau, I do quite like my shed, though I am getting quite attached to Florida what with my recent trips over there. I have little experience of the Home Depot tbh. I can wander round Target for hours though. There's a very good Super Target near Sawgrass Mills (florida's famous outlet mall) which I occasionally go into and look at furniture and cookware for no real reason as I don't have a house there. Being from Yorkshire I appreciate a good bargain. One day in target they had summer garden chairs on special for 99 cents and I was happily wondering how many I could get on the plane until I came to my senses.

Another of my favourites in America is that place "the container store" that sells boxes and inventive ways to make space go further. There's one in New York on about 58th and lex near Bloomingdales, somewhere round there. That's like heaven for a saddo like me. I've been known to buy that kind of stuff and lug it home only to leave it in its wrapping (I is messy person full of good intentions.) And you've got to love a place where you turn on the TV in the morning and the headline / screen strap on Today on NBC is "Basinger vs Baldwin - America Decides" .

Coming home is always an eye-opener on the costs front. I had to get a couple of keys cut the other day and it was 8 pounds. In Florida that costs less than $2 - it's about 85c a key plus tax in the local hardware store. Now I know I wasn't in a major city like New York or London, but still. 8 quid vs 1. Things like that, and the fact it costs a million US dollars for a three bed flat round here occasionally makes me wonder if it's mad to stay in London (though don't get me started on the insanity of house prices in the UK). And the bright light and winter/spring weather in FL are fantastic, though it is getting a bit too hot now.

No, no, I do love my London shed, even in the rain. I do. I do. It's a great shed. Hmm, if I had money, I think I'd get a house in the US and spend two or three months there in the winter, then come back here about now for the summer. Sadly that would require a fairly hefty lottery win......

Why am I rambling on like this. Must go to bed.
