Strike through not working on iPhone

iOS 11 which I think is what caused it. When I do a double - it turns into a — which doesn’t work to strike through

I’m sad. I like the strike through.

Go into settings/general and turn off "smart punctuation

Yay! drinks you're using the wrong symbol. It's the hyphen twice - - next to each other with no spaces
