Bookmark disappearing

Hello, lovely MN people, i am using the new 'testflight' app on an iPad. Since at least yesterday, the bookmarks that i set to make it easy to mark my place in a thread are disappearing. I can give you examples of threads. I have been checking, by closing and reopening a thread, that i have indeed set a bookmark. If i check immediately, it is there OK. When i go back to it, a few so.id hours of MN use later, it is gone and i have to start again from the beginning of the thread.

I have only relatively recently discovered the book mark feature on the app, and am now missing it a lot.

Sorry to hear this FinallyHere - how frustrating! If you could give us some examples of threads where this has happened, that could be helpful.

Hi @FinallyHere, thanks for raising this. I've done some tests on that thread using both the live app and the version on Testflight, and both appeared to work correctly.

I haven't made any changes on the bookmark feature, so I'd be surprised if a bug had been introduced. Although it is more awkward, I would suggest deleting the app and re-downloading (from either Testflight or the App Store), to see if that reduces the issue.

If it persists, I'll look into it again and try some different tests.

I need to upload a version of the app that supports iOS 11, but otherwise I’ll be working on this.

@FinallyHere - you’re absolutely right, and it’s exactly why TestFlight builds are important!

I’ve found the bug and have just fixed it (and added some minor improvements with post sharing). All kinds of sharing was broken too, because of the same bug on TIW and TIO.

I’ll be uploading the fix with the iOS 11 build, hopefully today or tomorrow, and it will be released within a week.

As a short term fix, if you open the bookmarked thread from the ‘topics’ section, it should show the bookmarked post. Although I appreciate that’s not the most useful place...
