I'd like to chat about the convenience of your deletion policy to rewrite history MNHQ

Convenient deletions so that your own posts go too that's becoming common practise too. After NYE you probably mised not to do that or edit retrospectively as you agreed it was unprofessional.

Yet again we are seeing cases where one member of HQ states something then another comes and contradicts it. Are you not a little embarrassed about how incompetent you look of late?

Hopefully your advertisers aren't looking to hard at the site at present? Or is that why you don't want them to see you struggling?

Even your deletion messages have no resemblance to the context of the thread? I think the majority of incorrect speculation falls at HQs feet on the whole. Rather than site users.

Well done Honeydragon

doowapwap · 07/08/2017 18:43

Some other mumsnetters do need to take some responsibility for this. their actions were horrendous and meant that people were too scared to say anything and too ashamed to report privately because apparently those of us who did were evil etc etc. Then came anahata and her actions!!!

@SerfTerf is right - but I'm going to say it more bluntly. People need to grow up and remember this is the internet. People LIE. If I tell you I earn £100k a month.... my husband is cheating on me with my sister and my son has 2 heads. Does that mean it is real?? NO. None of it. People need to take each post with a pinch of salt and keep in their mind that not everyone is real. Basic internet safety!!!

Miserylovescompany2 · 07/08/2017 18:48

At the end of the day a JG page was placed in the charity section of MN - that in itself is an endorsement. MN - you claimed this person had been verified?

Many contradictory messages have subsequently come at the end of deleted threads - sweeping things under the carpet isn't helping anyone, neither is threatening to ban folk if they dare speak out - that's called bullying in my book!

Therealslimshady1 · 07/08/2017 18:56

This thread still here? Grin

SerfTerf · 07/08/2017 18:57

Tweaks both ends would help.

Mummylin · 07/08/2017 19:09

Good on you 2017

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 19:12

I'm already tweaked. I'm a good poster. Ffs I've reported MYSELF more than once for breaking talk guide lines ..... so I feel I'm allowed to be somewhat gruntled at being condescended to and treated as nothing more than an irritating commodity by moderators whose lack of communication with each other makes MnetHQ look like it doesn't know it's arse from its elbow.

You'll have to sit the web-cynic test @HoneyDragon. I'm not going to just take your word for it. People lie online you know.

Miserylovescompany2 · 07/08/2017 19:22

I think this thread has turned invisible - replies not showing up in last 15 minute search? I might be wrong Confused

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 19:31

I went to university with a substantial amount of the the current Tory party and several actual Nigerian princes.....cynical is my default setting.

I can see it but have no idea what you are all talking about Misery.

Miserylovescompany2 · 07/08/2017 19:57

I only happened upon this via an external link?

CoolCarrie · 07/08/2017 20:02

I can see this Honey

Pidgythe2nd · 07/08/2017 20:58

20:02 is the last reply I see.

Sittinginthesun · 07/08/2017 21:00

I can see it, both on Active and Threads I'm On.

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 21:44

Good, I'm not invisible. Although the trouble I could cause if I was Grin

The events and handling of certain threads have validated concerns I've mentioned before, MNHQs over zealous reactions to any perceived troll hunting and insistence that they have 'investigated' are leading to posters to simply say their piece and have done with it.

As the modding has got more and more bizarre the amount of PBPs and trolls have increased tenfold. It's a monster of their own creation. If I could help I would, I've always believed in supporting HQ but their is nothing left for posters to support now.

It's a shame. And a lostive thing from these threads has been that forums are two a penny now and folk will keep going elsewhere .... perhaps that's why they are milking it as much as possible now to extract as much cash as possible and run it into the ground?

Certainly every MNHQ post of late radiates a aura of "I can't be bothered".

OP posts:
Lynnm63 · 07/08/2017 23:05

It would have taken so little on MNHQ part to have closed this down. If they'd just said we could have handled this better or allowed people to vent, ask questions instead of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Banning people and shutting down debate isn't working.
I always thought HQ were fair and reasonable but since the Charlie Gard and the D^*+d debacle I don't think they know their arse from their elbow. This has also meant I've looked at Reddit I'd never used it before but I like it and you're treated like an adult rather than a naughty child being told off by the prefects.

Fernanie · 07/08/2017 23:20

It would have taken so little on MNHQ part to have closed this down

That's exactly the thing. For all HQ's "please stop talking about this" deletion messages, honestly the ball's in their court. I think at this point all anyone wants is an acknowledgment of the part they played in the debacle and an assurance that they've taken steps so the same won't happen again. The whole thing would probably go away a lot sooner if those two boxes were ticked. But the endless censorship only stokes the fire - can't they see they're making the situation worse?

HoneyDragon · 07/08/2017 23:23

Despite many well meaning posters pointing this out they refuse to utilise common sense.

That's what bites hard. No one has been unleasany to mnet, most criticism has been balanced with positive suggestions and still they bloody delete, stick their fingers in their ears and hum.

OP posts:
Mychildcouldnotbreaatfeed · 07/08/2017 23:26

They've just done it to me on the fraud thread.

I have posted screenshots.

AgathaRaisonDetra · 07/08/2017 23:33

I think they're all getting into a bit of a tizzy up in them Towers.

SerfTerf · 07/08/2017 23:35

They gave a pretty reasonable partial mea culpa on some thread or other an hour or two ago . So I think they are listening, to be fair to them.

EyeHalveASpellingChequer · 08/08/2017 00:00

It's also always been Mumsnet's policy that "we do advise all our members to be aware that not everyone on t'internet is who they say they are, and that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare."

Mychildcouldnotbreaatfeed · 08/08/2017 00:00

Eye. Indeed

But that isn't what was said by hq on the deleted threads.

Which is why we have ended up here
