"A problem occurred with this site so it was reloaded"

This keeps happening to me when both reading and drafting posts on iPad Mini. Page reloads and I lose everything I have been writing.

Pages are also super slow to load and just as the page finishes loading, all of the content jumps position, so you go to click say, 'add a thread' but it moves and you click on a different link instead.

Writing a simple post becomes so exasperating I feel like not bothering.

Sorry to hear this - how frustrating! We've passed this on to Tech who will take a look. Fingers crossed we can get this sorted out.

OldHabitsDieHard · 06/07/2017 00:53

I have this issue. This site is barely working for me now, it is so slow.

iPad Mini with Safari browser, if it helps.

LornaMumsnet · 06/07/2017 09:28

Thanks for letting us know.

Is anyone else having this issue? Is anyone able to grab a screenshot and upload it to the thread?

Yes it's an issue on iPad Mini with Safari here too (and has been for some time). The site is very slow and the Hide Threads function does not always work properly.

LornaMumsnet · 06/07/2017 09:58

Hi all,

Could we ask if you're using the desktop or mobile version of the site?

OldHabitsDieHard · 06/07/2017 15:35

Desktop here

Wolfiefan · 06/07/2017 15:37

Mobile phone and I keep getting it too. It doesn't last long but I lose what I was typing. Been blaming my wifi! Grin

LornaMumsnet · 06/07/2017 15:51

Thanks, Wolfiefan! Is that on the mobile version of the mobile site or the desktop version of the mobile site?

noenemee · 06/07/2017 15:55

iPad mini, Safari, mobile version. Same issue here.

Wolfiefan · 06/07/2017 16:09

Um?!?!?! Little blue words at the bottom say desktop site! Does that help? Tech and I are NOT friends. Grin
Been happening to me for a while now.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/07/2017 01:58

Lorna this has been a recurring problem for a couple of years now and it's getting worse. There are numerous threads on site stuff about it.

So why is it that Tech are always so surprised when it is flagged up?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 07/07/2017 02:00

I'm on an iPhone and I'm also having this issue every couple of days.

Frustrating when you've typed a long reply!

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 07/07/2017 02:00

Using the mobile version of the site, btw.

Hey Bore,

Really sorry. We do understand how frustrating these issues are and always do our best to get to the bottom of them as quickly as we can.

Tech are still trying to replicate this and as far as we can see, it's not the same issue that's appeared in the past. We're going to keep digging and will do our best to sort this out.

Is anyone able to screenshot this happening?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 07/07/2017 10:44

I'll try to screenshot next time it does it but it flashes up quickly and then refreshes the page so it's tricky!

LornaMumsnet · 07/07/2017 11:52

Thanks!

We are really sorry that this is causing issues accessing the site, but we want to reassure you that tech are currently on this and trying to replicate and isolate the cause.

In the meantime, please do let us know if it happens again and where and when you had the issue.

noenemee · 07/07/2017 11:54

I wouldn't be able to screen shot anything useful because the page just goes white with the OP's line of text in very small writing at the top left and as said, refreshes back to the last bookmark.

It's probably been happening to me for about 3-4 weeks but with increasing frequency. I think it might happen when scrolling down with my finger if I leave a little more pressure for a fraction too long? but it doesn't happen with any other site. HTH.
ipad mini, Safari browser, mobile version of site

Last time... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2958470-A-problem-occurred-so-this-page-has-reloaded

The time before... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2927218-A-problem-occurred-so-this-page-was-reloaded

Can't find the one from before that, but it was around the time you were testing the clicky word link thingies Grin

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 12/07/2017 12:53

If I was gonna stick my conspiracy hat on (better head over to the tinfoil thread! Grin ) I'd say it's related to adblocker and not getting fixed because you don't want us using adblocker Wink

LornaMumsnet · 13/07/2017 10:08

Hi folks,

What happens when you refresh the page? Does it go back to normal?

LornaMumsnet · 13/07/2017 10:09

@c00k1e

Here's a screenshot but doesn't tell you much

Perfect, thank you!

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 14/07/2017 14:23

Barely working much on ipad at all now, and having a lot of difficulties on the laptop Google Chrome the last few days, (Win10. whatever we're upto), with the page constantly loading. If I click the 'stop refreshing' button at the top sometimes that lets me see it in peace, but often no matter how many times I click it to kill it, the page is still flicking and jumping and typing messages is difficult as the page is too busy trying to finish loading. If it's trying to load up a huge ad I wish it would stop.

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 14/07/2017 14:24

This also makes trying to refresh a thread that's fast moving impossible as the page is too busy jumping between loading and stopping. I have to go back to threads i'm on and re open it from scratch. The spinner is going constantly at the top of this page right now. .
