I have just joined Mumsnet and trying to change my user name from the rubbish generated one but it won't work. Do you have to wait after joining?

Hi everyone. Sorry about this, and user1495832265 - we really do try to get back to anyone who is having any account problems so really sorry if we missed your mail .
Realise this might be teaching some of you to suck eggs, but here is how to change your username from your phone: Go to active (bottom left), tap the three lines on the top right, then tap 'my mumsnet'. You should be able to change things from there.
If this isn't the problem then can you let us know which device you are using, the browser you are on, and if you are on the mobile or main site? Any screen shots you can send over with error messages are really helpful too.
We can then see if this is a known issue or something else.
