I don't know Moz. It is so bloody offensive to have that guest post sitting there it's a big fat slap in the face. They don't mean it.

There's currently a thread about a child with asd not getting a present off an uncle even though the other 2 did.
There are posters saying "well he doesn't know how to handle it" and "maybe he forgot" because she has no sense of money. (Not exact quotes by the way)
He deliberately left her out, yet there are posters defending him. A lot more saying it's not right and to pull him up on it though to be fair.

Is there still nothing from HQ on this? It's like bloody groundhog day. I posted 3 or 4 threads ago. I just give up now. I'm trying to sort out arrangements with DS1s school for a new SALT since his is buggering off. DS2 has had some issues with clarity in speech and needs a SALT too. And my ADs have been doubled. Oh and DS1 trashed his room last night after getting frustrated about something. These are minor issues compared to what other parents of disabled children face and they've knocked me for 6. I really salute those of you who are still fighting the good fight on this .

jacob they're keeping their mouths shut. I think after throwing it to the lions with Rebecca's comment on the other thread, I can't see much more being done. Your experience sounds like a nightmare

There is a wealth of experience and knowledge from users on this site to be utilised, what a shame HQ are so naive.

i have taken a few days of mn. came back to lurk yesterday and OMG was shocked.
so yet again someone NC and starts a thread, it offends and they get support from MNHQ
the post from MN HQ was a green light for disablism.
i am very tempted to copy and paste it and out it on all there lets do a campaign for the disabled threads

I'm tempted to send it to the equality and human rights commission. Seriously HQ. Indirect discrimination is a thing. You know. An actual thing the law protects against and your official stance as per Rebecca's post is not recognising that.

Auser if you know how to do that and it doesn't impact too much on your resources than I would support you in doing that. Happy to add my name if you want to pm me.

Apparently I'm just looking for a fight.

I spoke briefly to someone by online chat at the equality advisory and support service and they asked that I email them a link to the thread for them to take a look at. I have done that so I will wait and see what they say.

I expect to be banned from here for doing that so if I go you'll know what has happened.
