Why has the bit at the top changed again?

It's like being at the supermarket after they have rearranged everything - I keep hitting the wrong button because I am used to it being in a particular place!

Put it this way... how often do you search for messages? how often do you look at active conversations? Thought so! So why should the search be on top? Cute re the dinosaurs, etc but I am not convinced.

JoolsToo · 08/02/2007 13:39

oh yes! it's driving me nuts - I keep clicking 'search messages' instead of 'active convos'

it's like when the supermarket move all their products about

itsmeNDP · 08/02/2007 13:44

I keep accidentally pressing on the blardy 'search new messages' bit because that is where active convo used to be

didibops · 08/02/2007 13:45

Well I've had a break from mumsnet, havent been on since about June last year, and I am completely lost, it's all changed!

hunkermunker · 08/02/2007 13:50

R...O...F...L at Harpsi's "laboratory RATS learn quicker than me"

And because, well, er...me too

I was getting quite fond of the stripey bit at the top though, and now it's gone all one colour.

AbbyMumsnet · 08/02/2007 14:14

If it's any consolation (and writing that phrase I suspect I know the answer) it's the same for us too. Plus, we have loads more buttons to deal with and they keep changing too. (Frankly, we should have known summat was up when we opened the shed door to find Tech sporting a t-shirt with the slogan, "Evolve or Die".)

We could let it get to us, but we're taking solace from our unshakeable belief that, what with having opposing thumbs and all, we'll get by.

Oati · 08/02/2007 14:17

monkeys have opposing thumbs - you don't find many of them on Mumsnet

Twiglett · 08/02/2007 14:26

rofl .. think you mean opposable iota

or is that the reason they make that shrieking noise .. cos their thumbs are always fighting each other

Oati · 08/02/2007 14:29

I copied Abbey Twiggers - she said it first ( actually I typed opposable and changed it)

AbbyMumsnet · 08/02/2007 15:10

You know what I mean... blame typing error on fact that boiler blew up yesterday. Top timing. Am so cold that am wearing gloves to type. Have deadline to meet and all I want to do is go and hug the gas fire. Maybe should join Tech in the shed? Might be warmer.

MamaCampbellBlack · 08/02/2007 15:12

i don't like it either. want Active convos to be on top line again

i don't like change

AbbyMumsnet · 08/02/2007 15:14

Actually, I think I meant what I meant when I typed it first tie round. We have opposing thumbs. Well, I don't at the moment becaue they are bloominc old and it is making me type like Cod.

belgianmama · 08/02/2007 15:20

You know, I had a feeling something was not quite right, but I couldn't quite put my (frozen) finger on it. NOW i know, the active convos thing has moved and the topic list thing has completely dissapeared. That explains why it took my 5 min to discover where the topic list had gone!
Oh Abbymumsnet. Cod's typing is soooo hard to read. Can we send her for typing lessons?

Twiglett · 08/02/2007 16:52

um not that I'm a pedant or anything (oh no no no no no) but we have opposable thumbs

AbbyMumsnet · 08/02/2007 19:02

Well, the Smithsonian National Zoological Park refers to them as opposing, so I'm in good company...

AbbyMumsnet · 08/02/2007 19:03

Anyhow, I'm a hairy trucker, I'm allowed, nay expected, to make mistakes.

TinyGang · 10/02/2007 10:06

Aaargh this is driving me mad!!!

I keep clicking on the wrong thing and going into 'search' instead of active convos.

It's like driving a different car and putting the windscreen wipers on instead of the indicators when you want to turn a corner.

OliviaMumsnet · 10/02/2007 11:06

TinyGang, but when you're driving that car, after a couple of times of putting the windscreen wipers on by mistake you remember! At least with this change there's no chance of causing an accident!

WelshBoris · 10/02/2007 11:10

Olivia, did you know that you have a cousin who posts on here called OliveMumsnet?

TinyGang · 10/02/2007 11:17

I keep doing it though - AArgh! - my brain has shrunk since having children. I can't remember anything anymore

fuzzywuzzy · 10/02/2007 11:24

I'm driving myself insane with number of times I keep hitting 'search messages', when all I want to do is look at active conversations.....maybe that says more about my addiction than anything else
