Stupid Question about Highlighting Op's Names

This may be so obvious I am going to hide my face in shame when I find out the answer but ...... How do you highlight other people's usernames when referring to them in a post. I've tried the obvious way of hitting the Bold button but that doesn't seem to work? Is there something I'm missing?

Glad some lovely MNers have helped you out here.

As they've said, there's a handy box at the foot of all threads on the main desktop site which shows you all the tricks.

In case you can't see it, here it is -

Bold: hello gives hello
Underline: hello gives hello
Italics: hello gives hello
